Laying across Rehan's sofa, Adam stretches as he checks his phone. He's been added to a group chat called 'Bad Hombres':
"The boys want me to go out with them this weekend to the club."
"Which one?"
"That one with the star on it?"
"Club Asterisk." Rehan laughs. "Gaizka works there. He's weird."
"Gaizka? How do you know him?"
"He's my ex. We went out like six months ago."
"Gaizka is your ex?" Adam seems surprised. "Is he one of the gangsters you were talking about?"
Rehan shakes her head. "He was different. How do you know him?"
"That's a long story. Let's just say that we got a bit close for comfort."
"You made out with him?" She smirks. "It's nice isn't it?"
"Yeah it was a weird ball of passion. At first I was reluctant but then absorbed into it." Adam admits.
"Are you seeing him right now?"
"No idea."
"Was it a one-night stand or something?"
"No clue." Adam checks his phone. "If I want to meet him again, he's only one text away."
"True." She leans her head closer into Adam. "Marco's the weirdo, right? The one that posts a bunch of memes and lame Dad jokes?"
"And weird, sexual innuendos but is a good guy underneath it all? Yeah, that's him. Marco the Narco."
"Narco?"
"Yeah, I think he's still hungover from the last time he went out. Either that, or he's being normal. It's impossible to tell."
Rehan laughs. "He has one of those personalities then?"
Adam nods. "You either love him or hate him and thankfully I love him as a friend and a brother."
"That's good. Also, are you fine now? I heard you grunting yesterday outside the apartments when I was coming back."
"Yeah I'm good."
"Sorry I didn't catch you in time. I had to run to work because I was late."
Adam laughs. "It wouldn't be like you."
Rehan jokingly glares back. "Yeah, yeah. So Adnan's your hot cousin, right? I think I met him once."
"Of course you'd find him hot. Dude, your libido's bigger than Zara's make-up collection."
"That big?" She laughs. "I find him aesthetically pleasing to look at. I'm surprised he's not gotten married yet."
"My Uncle Amir doesn't really endorse arranged marriages. He's just gonna let Adnan choose whoever he likes."
"That's nice."
Adam smiles. "I have no idea what Mahmoud thinks of me, and I don't care anymore."
"Ooh, you're calling him Mahmoud now. Edgy. What brought about this change?"
"We sorta fell out. I forgot to come home from Gaizka's and Mahmoud went berserk at me when I got back from work. He threw an ornament at me, and ever since then, he's been lecturing to me about becoming a man."
Rehan makes an 'oof' sound effect. "You can stay on my sofa until he calms down, if you want. But you can't stay here forever. The landlord's picky about roommates and visitors."
