Chapter 02
Time Labyrinth
"You knew each other?" I peeked at Juudaime's face when we started following the lady elf to God-knows-where.
"She's the Eighth Guardian of Sfaira Mageias, so basically, yes, we knew each other," he replied dryly with eyes narrowing at the back of the lady elf.
"She's your senpai, then." I nodded in a continuous motion with my left hand cupping my chin.
It was Juudaime's turn to peeked at my face; he's frowning and he seems like he's about to explode. "Excuse me, what?"
I rolled my eyes in secret and just shrugged; not wanting to say anything, for he might send me flying.
After a few minutes of trailing the lady elf, we've arrived at this huge huge tree with numerous windows, ginormous double doors, captivating bridges across the enormous tree, and of course there's a sparkling lake.
"What is this place?" I uttered in amazement as my eyes wandered to every corner of this bewitching place.
"We're in front of the palace, young man," the lady elf replied with a smile. "What's your name?"
I curved my lips into a small smile and introduced, "Gedeon, you can call me Geddy if you like." she skipped towards me with her arms placed on her back.
She tapped my nose once then trailed in gently. "Mine is Sloane. Nice to meet you, Gedeon."
"Oh, no nickname?" she giggled and messed up my hair.
"You silly." she pinched my nose this time, and I'm guessing that it's already red. I averted my eyes at Zep and saw how annoyed she was while giving her sharp stare to my nose.
"You also have King and Queen here?" Alter asked dryly while cleaning his wand with a white cloth.
"We don't have those here; we only have Chief, and this kingdom is not only for the Chief to live in, but also for us, elves."
"That's new," Saiten interjected. "Does it mean that the Chief of the elves is good?" Hachidaime frowned for a second before she nodded. "And that's rare."
"Why? Do you have issues with royalties?" Juudaime butted in with arms crossed across his chest, and creased brows.
Saiten shrugged. "Who knows." then stand beside me.
I stared at him for a minute; trying to figure out if something's bothering him or maybe he doesn't feel well. "You okay?" he nodded without throwing any glance at me. I sighed and patted his shoulder. "Let's go. Zeit is waiting for us."
It was not hard getting through those securities around the bridges, since they knew Hachidaime and Juudaime.
Must be good being a Guardian, huh?
But trust me when I say that it was hard getting through those elves who never ceased to laid their eyes on us, like we're celebrities or something; their eyes were glittering!
"I think the elves wanted to adopt my cousin," Aisthi started while turning her head from left to right. "Can you arrange a small event—a mini audition will do!"
"Why?" Hachidaime asked with a giggle. "I can do that."
"Great! I'll take care of the papers needed." Aisthi turned her head over her shoulder to see Juudaime who's now appeared to be annoyed. "Don't worry, Rauch. You'll get adopted soon." then Aisthi sent a flying kiss to Juudaime, which he avoided with a cringed face.
