Chapter 26

Clock

I'm not skilled at inflicting pain, since that's not my specialty; if Srijan was here, then he would be willing to fulfill that role for me, however, he's not here.

We departed from Bethuna Irawo after a minute, since Aisthi need to change her clothes. She explained it to us later after our arrival at Zeit's room for the second time: the mirrors are responsible for her make-over and stuff like that.

She look exquisite in that ball gown, yet she don't fancy it—which is disagreeable.

"Before we proceed." Alter took the space in front of Aisthi. "Did the mirrors tell you more than that? I mean: we're not knowledgeable enough to know what we're going to do next after we got Zeit's last piece."

I've been pondering the same thing. "I'm positive that there are rightful procedures we should follow in order to assemble our elf back," I interjected.

Aisthi stared at us for a couple of minutes; she sighed upon perceiving that we're dead serious about what we're pertaining. "They did, however, I'll only expose it after we got all his pieces; I have no reason to obstruct the flow for now."

I want to know the procedure, in order for us to prepare ourselves, since we're running out of time. However, Aisthi showed none of the sign of defying what she just said.

I guess we'll be waiting until I got to talk with Zeit.

We deserted Zeit's room and went back to my hospital room, for the reason that we left Zeit and Hachidaime there; none of us dared to initiate a conversation during our.

Alter stayed at the back, while Aisthi on the middle, and me as the lead; Alter seemed to struggling to read Aisthi's mind, even though he has none of that ability.

I know that he's like me: we want to know the truth, yet the truth is not being cooperative; the truth seems like a child who fancied playing rather than being cooperative.

The door didn't produce any sound when I turned the doorknob, and exerted enough force to push it in order for us to enter; what we saw made Aisthi gasped.

"I have no idea you were a nurse." I crossed my arms across my chest, leaned my back against the wall, arched my lips into a smirk. "Zeit's not awake, huh?"

Zeit's still lying on my bed: he's not wearing any upper clothing; his dark-green trouser is still intact; there's a white towel on his forehead.

"Are we disturbing something?" Alter chimed in after he stood beside me.

Hachidaime is sitting on the side of the bed, wet white towel on her right hand; Zeit's right hand on her left hand.

Aisthi placed her hands on her hips. "Why are you giving him a bed bath? He's not bedridden, is he?"

Hachidaime acted like she never heard anything, and continued on trailing Zeit's arm with the wet white towel on her hand; she's performing it like she's caressing a baby's head.

Why is she doing that, anyway?

We waited for few minutes before Hachidaime could finish the bed bathing session. I'm still pondering why she commenced such act, since I don't see the need for Zeit to take such bath.

"How?" that was the second question Aisthi asked Hachidaime. "How did you get rid of Zeit's control?"

Hachidaime let out a deep breath, turned her head over her shoulder to stare at Zeit. "In regardless to what he's capable of, none can repudiate that I'm one of the keepers of time: I'm still the Eighth Guardian of Sfaira Mageias if you've forgotten." she distance herself from Zeit, then leaned her back against the back of the door with her arms crossed across her chest.
