Chapter 08
Babysit
What in the gummy world is wrong with her?
Can't she just shut that mouth of her? We're in a hot spring! What would she expect?: Decent clothing? Sacred acting? Maintaining holiness like that was a thing?
"Urusai! What's so funny about that? She's insane!" I've been glaring at Kalypso ever since they got here, and Alter—along with Saiten—can't stop themselves from laughing. "She embarrassed me."
I'm sure that my cheeks looked like a freaking tomato right now; I covered face even more in the water to hide the sign of embarrassment.
"Where did you met her? It seems like she grew fond of you, pal; she's been glaring at you in nonstop!"
"Urusai na."
"But seriously, buddy. Where did you met those two?" Alter asked.
"What's the point on asking that now? It's not like we can do anything about them, and besides, we came here to collect Zeit's pieces and not mingle with these creatures," I replied with mouth still buried in the water.
"Don't be too hard. I was just asking." Alter waved his hand, then turned his head to their direction, probably observing them again.
"Stop staring at them, will you?" I hissed.
He turned his head at me; his brows creased yet the look in his face seems like he's teasing. "Why would I obey you? I can look at them for as long as I want, since I'll be watching them with my own eyes, not yours." he flashed a smirk.
"Trust me: if you keep on doing that, she'll differently place a target mark on your forehead, and that would be the worst thing that would happen in your life."
"Jeez, okay. Why are you so serious?" he let out a chuckle and leaned his back on the side wall. "You'll age quickly if you let it get into you, you know?"
"Not my problem; I don't age."
That caught him off guard; he distance himself on the side wall, faced me with that incredulous look in his eyes. "We're having a serious conversation here, buddy; presenting or pulling out any jokes are out of the line here."
"I'd never imagined myself wearing makeups, joggling balls with a grin, playing stupid tricks in front of innocent kids. Don't underestimate my dream, Alter. I'm not a clown aspirant."
He remained silent for a minute; hold his breathe for a while until he could utter words that could counter what I'd said, "What did I told about keeping your cool?"
"And what did I told you about me not having the ability to age?" I sighed when he can't utter another words for the second time. "Let's get out of here."
I glanced at Kalypso and Eirian for the last time before removing the white towel on top of my head.

"I don't remember agreeing to this," I protested when Alter declared that we're going to help Zeit on his job: babysitting.
"Yeah, since we don't remember telling you either." I gave Alter a sharp stare, yet he just disregarded it.
"You were sleeping peacefully last night, we don't want to bother you or anything, that's why we decided this without hearing what you have to say," Saiten explained apologetically.
I sighed, then crossed my arms across my chest. "If these kids will be a mendokusee, then I'll leave."
"Do as you wish." Alter waved his hand as he approach Zeit; Saiten and Hachidaime followed him.
