~Yew~

Name: Yew

Age: Unknown, because no-one is even sure who her parents were. Yew is also a VERY skinny, short, and scrawny dragon, as she wasn't brought up with the proper food source and was never taught what to eat and how much to eat and what's good for you or not. Most assume she is at least 8, though it will be revealed soon...

Gender: Most people refer to Yew as "it" or "they", but Yew is actually female- though gender doesn't exactly exist in her view of the world.

Tribe: Leafwing. She's neither Posionwing nor Sapwing- her mother was a Poisonwing, her father a Sapwing, and they named her after a tree with toxic berries. It sounds romantic when you think about it, but it's not so helpful when the two halves of the tribe are trying to figure out where she belongs after her parents have been killed.

Backstory: Imagine Sundew and Willow, but the Sapwing of the pair was male, and they decided to have an egg together. To protect themselves and their dragonet from the feuding split tribe, the trio runs away into the Poison Jungle. Then WHAM! They both die. How? Nobody's quite sure. Though many have tried to get a straight answer as to how they were killed, Yew comes up with a different story every time. Anyways- little Yew was left all alone in the jungle, unaware as to how anything worked. It's a miracle that she somehow survived. How she did it is unclear. It's obvious though that being alone, scared, and probably constantly accidentally eating not-entirely-edible plants were the contributing factors to Yew's lowered sanity levels. Did I mention that she's crazy? She attacks without warning or reason, but can also be such a sweet little doll. Her personality and behavior can be swayed by the slightest things- what she ate recently, if she's tired, what the weather is, if what anyone is saying is interesting to her, who's around, if she's bored. If Yew were to be described in one word, it would be "volatile".

Crush: When it comes to romantic emotions, Yew thankfully takes things VERY well, but she is awfully... honest about it. Yew has a crush on a female Sapwing called Juniper whom she met when the Sapwings let the wandering dragoness temporarily into their village for questioning. Thanks to Juniper befriending Yew, and then pleading to Queen Sequoia about it, Yew is now free to stay in the village so long as she is supervised. Juniper is aware of how Yew feels about her, as Yew told her {she quite literally said "I really really really REALLY REALLY REALLY like you. I LIKE like you. A lot." right to Juniper's face} after a little while. As shocking as it seems, Juniper has grown to care for Yew as well, though she does not feel comfortable telling her yet because of the issue with not actually knowing how old Yew truly is.

(By me)

{I designed Yew for myself as a Halloween celebration thing (because I'm a sad loner), but she turned out kinda cute AND freaky, so I took some of the technique I used on her and used it to make some Halloween Special adopts for my adoptables book. Leisure, the insane Rainwing from earlier, was one of the adopts. He never got adopted by anyone, so I kept him for myself. Poor guy-}

{Also, the red dots on her eyes are her pupils.}

Extra: The horn and tail loops are a popular accessory in the slightly lower groups of Sapwings. They are made from a piece of vine, plant stem/stalk, or soft root bent into a wearable shape and rather thinly coated in (often) aromatic resin. Juniper, the Sapwing Yew has a crush on, gave them to her when the two first met. Yew was galumphing around the place (yes, she WAS actually galumphing) when the crazed green dragon came across Juniper and some of her friends making hoops and wing piercings. Juniper saw that Yew was very clearly intrigued by what they were doing, and casually handed the newcomer multiple vine accessories that had just set. Yew hasn't taken them off since- though she did originally have two tail hoops, but lost one somewhere in the Poison Jungle.
