Outside | K. Bakugo x Reader

Chapter 7

[coming up to Christmas]

There's a knock on my balcony window and i spring up from my lying position in my bed and run towards the sound.
I tank back the curtains and see Bakugo peering inside, the setting sun draping over him and causing the shadows to sharply define his muscles.
I smile widely and throw open the door "what's happening?"
"Nothing" He rolls his eyes and enters my room.
Disappointment washes over me and i walk over to my bed, throwing myself down.

I really hoped he would take me outside today. He said he'd think about it but it appears he can't.

"I just don't think you could take it" he smirks.
"Of course i can take it. Did you not see mine and Shota's training the past few weeks?"
"I meant mentally"
"Oh- Well i can. I don't see why it's such a massive issue. I just want to see the world and the big screens and bright lights and cars instead of horse and carriage" I groan and spread my arms so i'm in a 'T' shape.

I momentarily lift my head to see him due to him being quiet. He was staring down at me, a conflicted look within his red orbs.
For some reason, my stomach felt as if it was doing somersaults as my eyes met his.
He tutted and shook his head before sliding a bag off of his shoulder and letting it fall to the floor.
I set my view on it, not sure what was inside.

He grumbles and mutters to himself for a second before opening the bag and pulling out pieces of clothing.
My eyes widen and i try to hide my smile.
"Put these on" He stretches his arm out in my direction almost as if he didn't actually want to give me them.
I snatch the garments from him and he turns away as I run on my tiptoes into my wardrobe, letting a squeal leave the back of my throat.

I look down at the clothes for a minute. The new fashion is wonderful.
I'm quick to change and meet him back in my room. The outfit is really comfortable. I don't think i've ever been so comfortable in my whole life.
"How did you get these?" i smile at him.
"Mum had some old shit in her room" he shrugs holding the balcony door open for me again.

I shudder as the wind brushes against my body.
"Almost forgot" he murmurs as he goes back inside, returning with a large top "coat"
"Oh! I've seen these" I say excitedly as i slip my arms into the warm coat.

Staring out into the open, I feel myself become even more excited.
"Ready?" He holds his hand out.
"Y-yeah?" I inhale in anticipation and takes his hand. When he pulls me into his body, i find myself holding my breath as my heart increases in speed.
"You better be" He smirks "Cling on tight, princess"

All of a sudden, loud explosions echo around the grounds as we travel up into the air. We go for a while until we're past the forest. The dirt road had ended and a concrete one had started. He creates smaller explosions to help us land softly.
I let go of him and laugh "Oh my goodness! That was amazing"
"We've barely even started" He takes my hand again and we begin running.

Throughout the whole time, i couldn't stop gazing at the world around us and chuckling in excitement. It's actually happening!

We come across a large bit of land where multiple cars were parked and he lets go of my hand as we slow to a stop. He pulls out something from his pocket and a clicking noise sounds from one of the cars.
"Alright, into the car"
"The car?" My eyes gleam.
"The car" he smiles, opening the passenger door. I hop inside and look at all of the different things, being tempted to touch them even though i shouldn't.

Once he's in, we drive for a while. The entire time, i was looking out of the window, trying to not miss a single bit of what's happening outside.

It's about 20 minutes before we arrive in the city but when we do, he pulls into a parking lot.
"What do you want to do?"
"Uhm, I want to see the screens!" I grin.
"Really? Borrrring" he gives me a thumbs down.
"How about the arcade? It's a big building filled with lots of games. Some of them are video games too"
"Oooh yes!"

I find my own hands opening the door and I jump out of the seat. I do a slow 360 turn and scan what's around us.
It's just as i thought it would be. Lots of normal people doing normal things. I'm now a normal person!

Oh my God there's babies! There's babies! How cute.

There's also loads of types of cars. I haven't seen this many in my whole life... this is such a different world from mine.

"We gonna go or what?" he grunts and gives me a look.
"We shall go!" I say loudly and start walking away and as i'm about to walk into the road, he yanks me backwards. I yelp and fall into him.
"Dumbass! Look both ways you were about to be flattened" He growls into my ear, a car zooming past.
"Apologies, i will look both ways from now on"
"Damn right. Can't get you killed now, can i?" He chuckles and lets go of my wrist.

A feeling of boldness overcomes me and as my wrist drops from his grip, i catch his hand in mine "then you'll have to keep me safe, won't you?"
We lock eyes and his cheeks turn into a lovely shade of rose. The world falls silent for a moment as we stare at each other but the blonde decides to break the quiet "We should cross"
I nod and grin "Onwards soldier"
