A/N- Hahah I just kinda completely forgot to update this this week so uh I'll publish two chapters today...
It was a cold, dark night, but I didn't mind. The cool breeze was actually refreshing. At least it was for me, but I don't think it was for Jeremy, who shivered next to me.
I scooted over a bit and bumped his shoulder with mine. "Ya cold?"
He smiled. I have always loved that smile. "Maybe."
"We can go inside if you-"
"Nope it's fine," He quickly said, cutting me off.
Even with the chill, it was a fine night. The stars were bright, being the only real noticeable light besides that annoying streetlamp next to Jeremy's house. Out on the roof it seemed almost magical, even though it was just a roof. It was a beautiful roof. I loved the roof. Who doesn't love the roof?
My roof-thoughts were interrupted by a loud series of barks from the neighbor's dog, who sat on a tree stump as if to claim it as its own. I barked back.
"What'd he say?" Jeremy asked.
"To fuck off of his viewing range."
Jeremy laughed a bit, "As if."
As we looked back up at the stars in a comfortable silence, I had the urge to reach for his hand. This has never been a romantic thing- us just going up to watch the sunsets, stars and sunrises up here- but I'd like to think of it that way.
I outstretched my hand to be just a millimeter closer to Jeremy's, but I pulled it right back. What was I doing? I knew that it would be impossible for him to ever-
All of a sudden I felt his fingers intertwine with my own, and nearly jumped at the unexpected contact. I quickly looked over at Jeremy, who smiled back. Neither of us spoke a word. I stared down at our hands, feeling my face heat up.
Bark! Bark! Bark! BARK!
"SHUT THE FUCK UP CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYNA ADMIT LOVE HERE?" Jeremy screamed over at the dog, who made a low "woof" as a response.
"A-admit love?"
He chuckled. "I think the dog was saying, 'Get on with it already!'"
I joined in on the laughter. "Probably. Isn't he the perfect wingman?"
"Something like that. Maybe less harsh would be better, though."
"Yeah."
After another wave of comfortable silence, it was quickly turning awkward. I felt the need to do something, anything to make this better without fucking it all up.
Another low "woof."
Alright, I've had enough of this.
I turned towards Jeremy and quickly kissed him, never letting go of his hand. It was his turn to turn red, whipping his head over to stare at me. Did I do the wrong thing?
Before I could start panicking Jeremy kissed me back, short and sweet like my own.
We went back into silence.
"Okay this really isn't going how I thought it would go," Jeremy finally said, looking up at the night sky. We both laughed.
"Yeah, when are we going to make out already? When is the final declaration of how much I love you?"
"I guess it can be now," He said, standing up.
"What are you..."
He reached his hand down, and pulled me up as soon as I gripped it. We both stood, both of my hands in his, and both of his hands in mine.
"Michael, this is a confession of my undying love for you," He said as I stifle my laughter, "I would like you to be my official boyf riend. Will you accept?"
I couldn't conceal all of my laughs. "Yes, Jeremy. This is my confession of my undying love as well. I would also like to inform you that this is incredibly stupid."
With that, I broke him. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a tight hug, laughing into my shoulder.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
