It had been only been about two weeks of school, yet, there were parties every night. Clay had gone to about every single one of them. I bet he hooked up with any girl that walked in his direction. Not sure why I'm even jealous. We aren't dating, so why do I care? It's because you like him, dummy. I tend to forget that I'm not actually dating Clay, and most of it is a fantasy in my head.
It was week five when Jon Asher was going to throw his annual back to school party. His parents bought alcohol, a karaoke machine, and they opened up their pool. So of course my entire grade wanted to go. But Jon's parents only allowed a certain amount of people. They even have a list. This year Clay was invited, since he goes to all those parties, he gets a plus one. I was sort of hoping he'd chose me. But he will probably take Nick. So I didn't say anything. The party wasn't until tonight. Clay still had time to take me. Right? I waited around all Saturday waiting for him to text me. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He was going to take Nick. I knew it.
"George!" I heard mom call. "Clay is here!"
"Be down in a minute!" I replied jumping out of bed. I made sure I looked decent for him. Even if Clay didn't like me, I still wanted to look good.
I rushed down the stairs trying not to make too much noise. Didn't need Clay thinking I was in love with him. Which I am, but he doesn't need to know that. So I walked to the door to see Clay there with the gang. Everyone seemed to be ready for a party. I was confused. You could only bring one person. Why was the entire gang here? I just grabbed some things then piled into the car.
"Hey Wilbur, how come you left the sleep over early back at the party? We didn't even notice you were gone until that morning," Tommy asked. It had been months since that party. I don't know why he cared.
"Sorry that I didn't tell you guys. When you all walked into the basement I stayed back and told your mom, George, that I was going to get a ride home. I wasn't feeling all that great," He replied rubbing the back of his neck.
"That's ok dude, we can hangout now," I replied looking at him in the back seat.
Driving to the house I got a little nervous. Jon's parties were notorious for games like, seven minutes in heaven, spin the bottle, strip beer pong, and so on. Personally I'd just stick around with Clay and not get into trouble. We pulled into the drive way already full of cars. I got out putting on my white sunglasses. I would not be seen as "George Davidson" here, to them is was GD. The coolest party guy out there. I don't know why, but I've made myself a party persona. Anyone I meet I tell them I'm GD. They know it's me, George. I don't care though. I prefer GD. Plus Clay calls me that nick name. It's kinda hot sometimes I swear.
We walked up to the guys taking the names. Apparently the entire gang was invited but me. I guess Jon has never met GD. I feel bad for him, GD is a fun guy. As we entered the house. The aroma of alcohol hit me on the face. Vodka everywhere. Why did teens like vodka so much? I guess it gets them wasted fast. Jell-O shots being served like crazy. Clay and I shot one when we first walked in. Nick ran off with Karl some where. Tommy and Tubbo went to the living room where some other kids were hanging out. Wilbur went and found Niki his best friend. And you wouldn't be surprised if I told you that Will's letter was N and Niki's was W.
(Ok correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard Wilbur and Niki don't mind being shipped as long as it's not nsfw. Please tell me if I'm wrong. I will fix this if it is.)
Our entire friend group was in love with their best friend. Well, except for Tubbo and Tommy. Both of them happily into girls. Especially Tommy, he never shuts up about women. As I followed Clay around we talk about how fun the party was going to be. Jon had levels of his parties. There was first floor level. Like where you get small amounts of alcohol, some snacks, and hangout places. Second level was where you had larger amounts of alcohol, a table full of food, and a karaoke machine. Then level three or as some kids call it the pent house. Which is here Jon and his friends hangout. They have all you can drink alcohol, smokes, dinner, and video games. Clay had gotten himself into level three. I honestly had no idea what this was until two minutes ago. Clay told it to me.Jon welcomed Clay into the "pent house". I stood behind him worried I'd be kicked out. But they let me in. I guess I was Clay's plus one after all. They say us down on a comfortable couch. An Xbox surrounded by a couple guys played a movie. There was a table full of bottles of different alcohol. Clay poured me a glass then sat down. I was offered dinner but I didn't want to throw up everywhere if I got drunk. Some of Jon's friends handed me a cigar. I kindly declined since I hated smoking. Clay wasn't into it either. He threw his away after taking it.
We talked for quite sometime. Jon was actually a really interesting guy. I always thought he was a stuck up rich guy. But really he was a sweet kid who loved doing this stuff. He was sad that it was his last year doing it. Jon is a senior and no little siblings to carry on the legacy.
"So you two a thing?" Jon asked looking at Clay's arm around my neck.
"Nah, we just good buddies," Clay smiled shaking me a bit.
"Yeah just friends," I said trying not to cry.
"That's what they all say."
We went back to talking about him graduating. He wanted to major in mechanics like his uncle Robby. He was a very successful mechanic. Made lots of money. Jon was looking to go into Alabama University since that's where Robby went. I was wrong about him, he was actually a cool guy. I guess the "never judge a book by its cover" is a true thing. As we talked some more I noticed a couple kids with an empty bottle. They walked over to us with it in their hands. I've seen this sight before. Spin the bottle. My heart jumped into my throat. I tried to get away but Clay sat me back down saying that if I didn't want to kiss anyone I didn't have too. Jon even agreed. They brought some girls up to play with us. They all wore sexy clothes that most of the guys liked.
"Alright who is ready for a fun game of spin the bottle!?" Jack shouted holding the green soda bottle in his hand.
I gulped hard.
