My nails strummed on the desk, knee bouncing as Liam's eyes narrowed in on me from the couch in my office. My brain was screaming at me for the need to keep my breathing steady, entirely unable to focus my attention on the email in front of me.
It had been four days since my dream. Four days of torture. Four days of wondering if that dream was even close to how he'd be in person.
"Ava?"
I shrieked, Liam's presence next to me jolting me back, immediately staring up at him wide eyed. "Hm? Yeah, what?"
His eyebrows furrowed as he took a slight step back, pushing his hands into his pockets.
"It's almost seven. You haven't eaten a thing yet."
I rolled my eyes and waved him off, my eyes back on the computer screen. The hairs on the back of my neck stood straight, the heat still radiating off of his body as he stayed directly behind me.
Heels clacking in the hall outside had me gritting my teeth, the chatting of employees drew an exasperated huff from me. I started tapping my nails on the desk again, though this time it was in annoyance and not tension.
Liam cleared his throat and I smirked, not having to turn around to know he'd have his arms crossed and his signature scowl planted on his face. What I didn't expect was for him to spin my chair around and throw me over his shoulder.
"Hey! Liam! Oh for fucks sake, put me down!"
Thank fuck I wore slacks today at least.
"No."
I growled, flailing in his grip, but it was no use. Ignoring the curious looks and gasps of those we passed in the hallway, Liam didn't set me on my feet until we were closed in the elevator.
"What the fuck!"
"You're getting hangry."
"I am not! I'm fine."
Before I could even finish my lie, my stomach rumbled loudly, echoing through the compact space we stood in. I rolled my eyes and he smirked, proving his point.
"Wipe that smirk off your face." I warned, leaning back against the wall.
"Hm... no. I don't think I want to."
I shifted my glare to his unusually playful eyes, ignoring my need to kiss his upturned lips while the smile was there. "I'll fucking wipe it off for you." I warned lowly, my eyes moving up to watch the floors tick down.
"How would you do that exactly?" Liam's voice dropped, thick with curiosity and unmasked desire as he stepped in front of me, his body heat surrounding me.
I straightened my back, standing taller. Challenging him. "I know how to fight, Liam. Try me."
His eyes lit up at the invitation and my core clenched, wishing they'd do that when he looked at me and not just at the thought of a fight.
Wait what?
The elevator dinged for the ground floor and Liam leaned closer to me, his lips hovering just over mine. I sucked in a breath, waiting on an advance that never came.
"Tomorrow morning, 5 am. Show me everything you've got, Ms. Hensley."
The doors slid open and Liam turned and walked out, the air suddenly unbearably empty as I stood against the wall, alone in the elevator.
I squeezed my thighs together, failing to ignore the lust pulsing through my body. My nipples pressed against my bra, aching to be touched. My pussy clenched, desperate to be fucked to an exhilarating climax. The sheer thought of going back up to my office and fingering myself in my aroused state had me nearing the edge alone, but my thoughts were quickly interrupted.
