3rd Person POV
Three weeks passed since Bill's death. At first the townsfolk were all wondering where Cipher had gone and the police started searching for the young lord, but after a while everyone just assumed he had moved away and they all just went back to normal.
But the Pines changed. The person who changed the most was surprisingly Stanford. After defeating Bill, he had gotten his memory back and started to act like a whole different person.
He still worked at the church but was way less into all that christian stuff and wasn't forcing it on Mabel and Dipper as much. He also seemed much more invested in Dipper and Mabel's lives, wanting to be a better great uncle.
Mabel really liked that change in Ford, now they didn't fight as much as before either.
While Dipper? He was... normal. He was doing what he used to do before Bill had appeared, and would even refuse to talk about the demon. Whenever Mabel tried to discus Bill, Dipper would just brush her off and change the subject.
Dipper just prefered not talking about Bill and pretending he never existed, it was just easier that way. The truth was that the thought of Bill had been haunting Dipper. He would sometimes hear his voice, his laughter and even see him in crowded places even though he actually wasn't there.
It was driving Dipper insane, he had no idea why this was happening. Was it because Bill was haunting him? Was it because Dipper had maybe gained some PTSD from living with him? Or was it perhaps because Dipper couldn't let him go...?
Deep down Dipper knew that he was regretting killing Bill. He regretted it so much that it was rotting him from the inside out. Not that Bill had left him any choice, Dipper would have probably regretted it more if he hadn't killed him.
But that didn't change the fact of how much he missed him. Dipper just wanted to see Bill one more time, to feel his warmth. Even though it was ridiculous how much Dipper had grown to like the demon there was no denying the fact Dipper did miss him.
The nights were probably the worst. The brunette wouldn't be able to sleep for hours and when he did finally manage to fall asleep, he would be woken up by these terrible nightmares.
Luckily, Dipper had found a way to fix his insomnia, he would go on walks in the woods at night. Yes, he knew it was dangerous but it was the only thing that could get him to sleep. He would be quite tired after walking for an hour or so.
There was also something very peaceful about walking through the quiet and peaceful night when there was nobody around. It calmed Dipper's thoughts which he was grateful for and after a walk he would usually be able to sleep without any night terrors.
Tonight was just another night and Dipper was walking through the woods. He let his feet lead the way as he let his mind go blank. Random thoughts crossing his mind from time to time and he would just let them pass, he felt at ease.
Though that feeling of relaxation was quickly gone as he realized where he had ended up, he now stood in front of Bill's mansion. Or what used to be anyways.
The place look much emptier than it was before, the flowers were all dead and so was the once beautiful garden in general. When Bill had died, all the furniture and everything else that belonged to him disappeared as well, leaving only an empty house and making it look like he really did move away.
Dipper just stared at the building, wondering what to do. He should turn around and head home but... for some reason he wanted to enter it. He knew it would hurt to go inside the house that he and Bill spend most time in together but perhaps that would help him move on.
