Quick Note: I'm sorry if you guys feel as if this story went by too fast, but this is more of a rough draft. Maybe, in the future, I'll decide to add more :)

I heard a loud shriek before I was pulled into a tight hug from Tyler's mother. "Amy, sweetheart, it's been so long!" she squealed, pulling back and looking me over. "Gosh, you're too skinny. We need to feed you good tonight!" She laughed, patting my back.
"Good to see you too, Charlotte." I said giving a small smile. "How've you been?"
"Just wonderful! It's nice to see my future daughter-in-law."
I chocked on my spit. "Excuse me?"
"You're going to marry Tyler eventually, aren't you? I mean, I'm not getting any younger. I need to have some grandbabies before I'm locked up into one of those retirement homes. Then I'd never see you!"
I laughed lightly. "Um, Charlotte, Tyler and I aren't even dating." And if I have it my way, we'd never. I cringed internally at the thought of the words he spoke at lunch, only a few hours ago.
Her face read full on shock. "What? I'm sure you two would be dating by now. I mean, all Tyler does is stay up in a the attic and paint pictures of-"
"Mother!" Tyler interrupted his mother. "Don't you have a dinner to cook?"
"Oh! Of course, silly me, I almost forgot!" She gasped. She put a hand on my shoulder, smiling sweetly. "Why don't you go and help Abby set up the table? Dinner will be ready soon."
I smiled tightly and nodded. While Charlotte went back to the kitchen and Tyler went to play a game of Just Dance with Wren, I silently walked to the dining room. Abby was setting the plates on the table when I walked in. Remembering, the argument we have earlier, made the atmosphere awkward. Abby glanced up at me and smiled a bit. I smiled back and gave her a small wave. "Hey."
"Hey Amy," she said quietly as she finished with the plates.
"Your mom wanted me to help you with setting up."
"Thank you, can you put out the utensils?" I nodded and grabbed some forks and started to place then on the correct side. As we set up, it was quiet. Neither of us bothered to make an attempt to talk to the other. It was an awkward silence between us.
I finally got tired of the quietness. Abby was my friend, she was the only one that knew what happened. Why I am the way I am. I opened my mouth to speak but, Abby beat me to it. "I'm sorry." She blurted.
I was shocked. Why was she sorry? I was the one that overreacted and I took out my anger on her. She didn't deserve it but, I was tired of people telling me to get over the past and move on.
"Why are you sorry?" I asked. "I'm the one that should be. I took out my anger on you. You didn't deserve that."
"Yes I did. You told me about your past and I pushed you to do something you didn't want to. I know I don't know how you feel because I'm not in your situation, but I realized that if I was you, I wouldn't want to take a chance in being hurt. I'm sorry I pushed you to...I guess...express your feelings about Tyler? I was wrong."
I didn't know what to say.
"And before you say anything, I want you to know Tyler does really like you. I can prove it if you don't believe me. You're not just a phase. And if you come with me, I can prove it." She said quickly.
I furred my eyebrows in confusion. "Show me how?"
"I can't tell you but, I can show you. Come with me." She grabbed my hand and pulled me out the dining room. Tyler spotted us going up the stairs and asked where we were going.
