...
Aaron looked at me sobbing, "Lena, it's Jack!"
I let Aaron inside and shut the music off, "Breathe Aaron, what's going on?"
"L-Lena, Jack w-was taken! He's gone, Le." Aaron continues his sobbing.
"What? What do you mean gone? When did this happen? You should've called!" I began to cry.
"We all tried calling, you weren't answering..." Aaron wiped his eyes.
"Give me five minutes, who's on the case?" I wipe my tears away, a switch has just been flipped inside me. I was no longer 'Lena Evergreen,' I was now a mom on the hunt and the trained weapon I used to be. The Fixer was back...
"The team and some people from the local PD. They took me off the case." Aaron tried to breathe.
"Follow me and tell me what happened," I walk up to my bedroom and pull out my white pantsuit and begin to change.
Aaron turns his back to me and begins, "Beth and Jack were at the park, I guess Beth took a phone call and when she looked up Jack was gone. She called out for him, looked everywhere, and asked everyone around if they spotted Jack."
I finished changing and walked into the restroom to put my hair up. I walked back into the bedroom and looked at Aaron's puffy eyes. Inside I was dying, I was ready to burst into tears, but I had a mission. I knew Aaron's rationality was long gone and all he was feeling at this moment was pain and anger.
I cupped Aaron's cheek, "We are going to get our son back, Aaron. Take me to the BAU, now."
Aaron nods and we make our way out of the house. I pulled out my phone and called the SVU, I needed my Aunt and Uncles on this with me. I get into the passenger seat and take out a pen and paper. I start jotting down all of the details Aaron could give me. The more I knew the better.
"Le, what am I going to do? I can't lose him... I can't!" Aaron slams his fist on the steering wheel.
"We're not going to think like that. I am going to find him if it's the last thing I do." I put my phone in my purse and grabbed Aaron's hand.
As soon as Aaron parked the car in the garage I was running to the elevator pressing the button to the sixth floor. Aaron kept up with my pace as we marched into the conference room. I saw Beth sitting in the corner crying and it took everything in me to not shoot the woman in her leg.
I took a deep breath and whispered to Aaron, "Why is she here?"
"She insisted on helping...I tried to get her to leave." He whispered back.
"Why didn't you just yell, Aaron? I'll take care of it." I looked over at the team and nodded slightly, "Hello Beth, it's nice to officially meet you. My name is Lena Evergreen, I'm Jack's mother."
Beth looked up at me and her crying immediately stopped, interesting. She looked the other way and didn't say a word. For someone who lost my son, she's acting rather bitchy towards me.
I turned back towards the team, "Has anyone questioned her? I need to know every detail she can remember."
"Yeah, Sassy. I did, but uh Le, you're not on the team..." Derek spoke.
I raised my eyebrows at him, "I am now. Since Beth has already been questioned she can leave now."
"I am NOT leaving! If I am, it's with Aaron. Honey, you really do need the rest." Beth tried to 'comfort' Aaron.
"Yes.You. Are. Beth, I suggest you listen, I am being more than kind considering YOU LOST MY SON! I know, I know someone took him but you should have never taken your eyes off of him for more than one minute. Rossi, Morgan... kindly escort Beth out of the building. This is a family matter."
