"I still think you added too much salt."

"Oh, come on. You say that every time I cook."

"Maybe it's because I want you to get it through your skull."

"I never complain about your obsession with Chile powder."

"That's because I know how to use it properly."

"Hmm. I would have though you liked salty. I mean, it's just like you! Haha- hey!" Oliver protested as Dinah zipped him with the edge of a wet towel. "Yeesh! Okay, okay!"

Oliver rubbed the spot where she'd hit him. Dinah smirked, continuing to wipe down the dining table where they'd had dinner.

"Low blow, Pretty Bird." Oliver murmured.

He rinsed the plates, stacking them neatly into the dishwasher. Dinah ignored him, tucking a piece of blonde hair behind her ear. Oliver dunked a pot they'd used earlier in the sink of soapy water, his blue eyes never leaving Dinah.

"You're staring." Dinah acknowledged without looking over.

She crossed back over to the sink and shook out the dirty washcloth. Oliver smiled softly at his girlfriend.

"I've missed this." He wrapped an arm around her waist.

"What, me beating you at towel fights?" Dinah asked innocently.

"No." He rolled his eyes playfully before pressing his lips to her temple. "I've missed you."

With supervillains Brick and Paragon trying to wreak havoc upon Star City this week, the couple had hardly any time for themselves.

Dinah laughed as his goatee tickled her skin. "Me too." She agreed.

Oliver gave Dinah the now clean pot so she could dry it with a yellow towel, faintly smelling of lavender. In addition to protecting Star City, dates had been hard to schedule lately between Dinah looking after Jackie, Oliver training Artemis, and regular duties that came along with being a member of the Justice League.

"Artemis seems to be doing very well." Dinah acknowledged with a nod.

At the mention of his young recruit, Oliver's eyes lit up with pride.

"She is, isn't she? She's taken to patrols quite well. I think it helps a lot that her mother is on board. Artemis doesn't have to sneak out of the house like we did." He gave her a gentle nudge, and they both chuckled in agreement. "Artemis is very talented; she's incredible at archery. I think she's getting along with the Team very well. Uh, mostly, anyway." Oliver corrected himself, thinking of a certain red headed boy.

"I think they're cute, actually." Dinah commented.

"If you say so." Oliver muttered, remembering the rant he'd gotten from her the other day during patrol.

Sensing an opportunity, Oliver decided to take it slow and play his cards well. Clearing his throat, he ran the silverware under the faucet.

"How is Jackie? I know you were nervous about her moving into the Cave and all." He asked her.

"Oh, don't even get me started."

Dinah rolled her eyes, grumbling at the thought of the disastrous mission the Team had returned from only a week and a half ago. Jackie solely meant to be an asset for identification on the mission. She wasn't meant to get involved in the slightest.

Despite how much Jackie told her mentor she had been fine, the apple sized bruise on her back from a bullet begged to differ. Oliver had heard his own account of the story from Artemis. No, it hadn't been a picnic. Dinah was right to worry, however he tried to soothe her mood. He settled a hand on her hip.
