Jonathan's POV
I took a long drag of my cigarette and let out a big puff of smoke while I watched the street race unfold before me. One arm draped around the skinny brunette standing by my side while the other one holding on to my cigarette between my thumb and index finger as our eyes trained on the racing cars rushing before us in full speed.
My mind was completely focused on the race without any thought of Faye lingering in my head. It's not like I think of her anyway but something about that girl bugs me the wrong way.
I think it has something to do with the way she presents herself to others. Acting so innocent with all smiles and happiness, definitely displaying the princess act as who she really is.
But when I'm around her, I get the feeling that she's holding back onto something. Something that's she's afraid to show others that could ruin not only her 'good girl' reputation, but also her.
I wonder if she's really the Faye she acts to be or is she hiding her true self that none of us had really known?
I blew out the smoke in frustration and my hand tightens around the brunette's waist who I had forgotten the name.
Was it Alexa? Or Alexandra?
Who gives a fuck?! I need to get Faye out of my head first.
"You wanna head somewhere private baby?" Brunette asked with her eyelashes fluttering a little, obviously getting the wrong signal when I gripped her waist not a full minute ago.
I glanced down at her with an uninterested look obviously plastered on my face, but my eyes quickly wander behind her where a familiar red Ferrari pulls up along the gravel road with a dusty wind trailing behind.
Three of the guys that I know so well stepped out of the car and they made their way towards me like angry predators attacking their prey.
Jake, Toby and new guy with a British or Australian accent named Andy, I think.
I pulled my arm back and threw my cigarette butt on the ground and stepping on it and then crossing my arms over my chest. I started walking towards them even though they're heading towards me but I smirked broadly and raised a questioning brow.
"Well look what the cat dragged in." Jake stormed his way towards me and I noticed his fists both clenched tightly in a way that it must've hurt.
"You son of a bitch!" As soon as his words flew out of his mouth, he flung his fist on my face but I quickly dodged it and push his chest back with both hands while his two sidekick grabbed him back while Castillo struggles to aim another hit at me.
Yay. Fun time.
"What the fuck are you playing at Ryder?!" I smirked again.
"Care to elaborate more Castillo?" I folded my arms across my chest and noticed TJ and Luke arriving by my sides.
"I know you're up to something you fucking bastard! Is that why you're suddenly interested in my sister?!"
Oh. So he found out about that one.
Not that I was planning on keeping it a secret from him, the whole point of getting closer to Faye is to piss him off hoping I would get to that point that I'm aiming for. The point where he gives up trying and loses all his control of being so self-centered thinking he's actually something special just because he's the heir to the Royal Mafia.
He grabbed a phone from Toby's hand and shoved it to my face showing a picture of me and Faye hanging out at that carnival we went to the other day. The picture was from my Instagram account on one of my posts.
"Stalk much?" Jake glared.
"Tell me the fucking truth on why you're with Faye? You're messing with my sister aren't you?"
"So what if I am?" He points his finger at me.
"End it. Stop this stupid game you're playing and stop messing with my sister's head. I mean it Ryder, or we'll have some serious problem we're gonna deal with."
Yeah right.
"Hey I'm not the one who's interested, it's all her I swear. She's kinda...obsessed with me. But I can't blame her though."
He stepped closer towards me but his boys pulled him back.
"Don't lie to me you piece of shit. I know you and your ways with girls. You bang them tonight, you throw them away the next day, and I swear to God if I find out you're planning to do the same with Faye, I will kill you." I started chuckling.
"Yeah good luck with that. But hey, it's fun messing around with her. She's a cutie you know?"
He swings his fists so inhumanly fast that it made me stumble back in surprise when the impact hits me on the face. And immediately I hit him back, but
Luke and the guys pulled me back and I noticed that Travis, that organizes the races was also involved in stopping the fight before it gets big to catch the attention of the viewers.
"Hey! Not on my track you two. Fuck off, both of you, and handle your fucking business somewhere else!" Travis yells at the both of us.
I glared at Jake as he did the same to me and I pulled away from Luke's grip on my arm and started walking back to where my car is parked. I got in and shut the door behind me and then started the car and drove away from the tracks, heading home where I can be at peace with myself and sort out my jumbled thoughts.
Especially sorting out this unwanted thoughts of Faye Castillo that kept popping up in my head at unexpected times.
Seriously, what is the matter with me!?
