Faye's POV
"Hi Faye!"
"Hey Faye. Looking great today."
"Good morning Faye."
I waved, I nod, I smiled at people as I walked down the hallway with a smile on my face as I said 'hi' back to people that were greeting me. It's always been like this everyday. Random people would come up to me and say hello or just called out a greeting whenever I walked by.
With a good reputation like mine here in school, these things are not hard to get for the rest of my life. The respect and kindness from others.
I reached my locker and punched in my code and started pulling out books and folders that I need for my first class on first period, calculus. I quickly glanced to the side and saw the Lockhart siblings strolling down the hallway with their heads held up and serious expressions on their faces. Their younger sister Eliza Lockhart who's a junior, leading in the middle.
The Lockhart siblings have always been as one of the badass siblings here in Pendleton high. They may look like they own every places they walked into, but they certainly don't act like it.
Since they're half Asians, their family runs one of the most powerful Mafia in whole of Asia. Their older brother Joshua Lockhart, is now the current leader of their Mafia and well, I've only seen him once, but people say he's the most ruthless and dangerous man alive.
My brother and I never really talked to the Lockhart siblings, but we only do when we see each other at a ball or a party. We don't hate each other or anything, it's just that, they have a different vibe.
Suddenly, Andy appeared in front of me, blocking my view from the Lockhart siblings.
"Hello, Faye." He said with a cool smile on his face.
"Um hi, can I help you with something?" He chuckled.
"Do you always have to ask that question if anyone just come by to you to say hi?" I shook my head.
"No, I'm just surprised that you're here talking to me. So I thought my brother sent you to tell me something." He smirked.
"What am I? His messenger?" I chuckled and he joined in.
Then all of a sudden, his face turned serious.
"Actually, I'm here to show you something. Now, don't freak out or anything, it's just a video, and this happened yesterday. I know it's the right thing to show you this so you'll finally know what kind of game you've got yourself into."
I frowned. What the hell is he talking about?
He pulled out his phone and gave it to me, and I hesitantly took it from his hand and pressed play. As I started watching, I realized it was a video of Jake, Jonathan, and their friends surrounding them, and it looks like they're standing in some sort of tracks area, where street races happens all the time. They seem to be arguing about something and I can't really hear what they're talking about since people standing and walking around us are also talking at the same time.
So I lifted the phone to my ear so I can hear what they're saying. The words that clearly came out of Jonathan's mouth in the video nearly made me drop the phone on the hard tiled floor below me.
"But hey, it's fun messing around with her...."
It won't take a genius to know that he was talking about....me. But I had to make sure so I gave the phone back to Andy who was staring at me the whole time. He took the phone from my hand but his eyes were glued to my face.
"Was he....talking about me? When he said about the 'messing with me' part?" My voice was one I didn't recognize when I asked the question.
It was suddenly dry, as if I haven't had a drop of water in days. Tears pricked my eyes but they were not tears of sadness, they're tears of anger, frustration, and annoyance.
I was so mad at him and at me, because none of this would be happening right now if I wasn't being so naïve. I was blinded by the fact that I had a crush on him for years and when he finally asked me out, I didn't think twice about saying yes immediately.
Even though I've always known his playful ways with girls, but I ignored it all because he finally asked me out!
"Yeah. Jake found out about your 'relationship' on instagram. The cunning bastard was posting all about you two all over the net on purpose because he knows that Jake will find out about it that way."
I slowly nodded while my hands curled into fists by my sides.
Great! Now my brother knows. I looked back at Andy.
"I need to borrow your phone, and if I break it in someway, I promise I'll replace it later."
Before he had the chance to speak, I snatched his phone from his hand again and started heading in the direction where Jonathan's locker is, which I know is where I will find him.
And I was right. He was leaning on his locker with his arms crossed in front of him and smiling smugly at TJ and Luke who were talking about something.
My hand tightens around the phone and I started walking faster towards him. TJ was the first to see me, but he was a little late to warn Jonathan because the minute I walked up to him, my hand automatically made contact with his face.
Gasps and loud whispers erupted in the hall as everyone's eyes glued on us but I ignored them all while I stared at him, angrily. His face had turned awkwardly to the side because of the slap, and he slowly turned around to face me with his hand touching his cheek.
"You son of a bitch." I stated instead of yelling at him. Nobody has ever heard me swear out loud but I couldn't care less about their shocked reactions.
"I've been called worse Faye baby, those words barely bruise my ego these days." I scowled at him.
How dare he act so calm about all this?!
"Messing around with me?!" I threw Andy's phone at him but it only hits his chest and falls on the floor.
"How could you?! I thought-"
"What? That we had something real?" He cuts in.
"Darling I've heard that line so many times and let me remind you, you're not the first to assume that." I scoffed.
"Were you using me just to get back at Jake?" I managed to ask softly.
His expression never wavers from the smug look he was giving me.
"Maybe. Or maybe I was just trying to fuck you." A low gasp escapes my lips when those words hit me.
"You know what? Go fuck yourself and don't ever come near me again!"
I stormed away from him, keeping my head and eyes down. But I can't help myself when tears started falling down my face and my hand flew over to my mouth, trying to hold back the strangled cry that had forced it's way up my throat.
I felt like my heart just got thrown on the floor where it shattered into a million pieces. I can never forgive him for doing this to me, he used me like a tissue and threw me away just like that.
But it's mainly my fault too, why did I ever agree on going out with him when I knew all along that he'll treat me the same just like he did to the previous girls he went out with?
I skipped class and ran out of the school building and opened the door to my car and left school, heading back home where my bed awaits me to drown myself in tears with.
