sophies pov

so today I am going into the hospital for my routine checkups to make sure my cystic fibrosis has not any worst. today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed I did not feel good at all which was kinda normal. mom came into my room a 7:00 am. "Hunny you need to get up and get ready for the day," she said. I slowly woke up and saw her in my room and for me, I just rolled over and covered my self with my blankets and started to have a coughing fit, then mom came over and took them. "sorry not today you need to get up and get dressed and go get try to eat something for breakfast and do your breathing treatments and your vest". by that point I rolled out of bed sitting on the floor and for a moment I just looked at her with the "come on mom it early" look I gave her.

"Okay mom," I said I grabbed my phone off the charger and then my headphones put on some music, and then got ready, and then went done stairs. "morning dad," I said to him as I walked over to him and hugged him. he was in the kitchen making breakfast for him and Mom. "morning kiddo," he said to me. that's when I walked over and went over to my mom and asked her to help me with my feeding tube stuff. Normally I would do it by myself but I didn't have any energy to do anything and somedays when that happens I just need to ask for help because I don't wanna mess it up. "hey mom can you help me with the tube, please. I don't want to mess it up." I said. "okay what about this you go get the stuff from your room and then I will help you and also make sure to grab your school bag and your mask. okay?" she said. "okay mom," I said.

gabby pov

I went to Sophia's room got her up then went back downstairs to where Matt was. he was making breakfast for me and him. I went up behind him and hugged him from behind him. "morning Hunny, so what are you doing today before shift." he asked me. " Matt I have to take Sophie to get her routine check-up then. and we also have to go get with the doctor for her CF (cystic fibrosis- sorry I am going to start calling it CF it is easier for me) and for her feeding tube to make sure she is on the right dosage." I told him. "so does that mean you are going to be late for work?" he said. "I don't know you know how the hospital is I might be because then I have to drop her off back here. so I might be at least 10 minutes late today." I told him as we ate breakfast. that when Sophie comes back in with her supplies for her tube. I finished eating then I helped her out. "Sophie make sure you have your vog mask and also your school bag," I said to her as we finished as we set her pump and connect her tube up and then put it in her travel bag. so she can Carrie it easier. she said "I know mom. I have everything." to me. "okay well go grab your stuff we got to leave." I told her as it was 7:45 am and her appointment was at 8:15. which it times like these I am glad we only live about 10 minutes away. and then we left her appointment. I kissed Matt and said" bye see you at work" and Sophie walked up and hugged him. and said, "bye dad see you after your shift and stay safe".

matt pov

as I was walking up the driveway to the firehouse I walked into the common area and went to the chef's office and knocked. the chef said "come in" and waved me into the office. "what can I help you with Casey?" he asked. I let him know gabby was going to be a little late today and she had to take Sophie to the doctor's office today. "Casey that's fine and also how is Sophie doing?" he asked. "she doing good and is now doing online school we thought it would be best to do it that way," I told him. he asked if I needed anything else then he dismiss me. I left and went to the common room and everyone was there for shift besides gabby. that's when Brett came over and asked "Matt have you see gabby today she is normally here by now for shift?" I told her that she will be a little late due to something she had to do and that she will be there in a little while. she said okay and went to go restock the ambulance.

gabby pov

Me and Sophie walk into the ED and we say hi to Maggie and Natalie which Natalie is her godmother to Sophie and then we said we come back this way to out so we can say goodbye to them and we were off to Sophie's appointments and after that me and Sophie hurried back down to the ED and said out goodbyes to Natalie and to Maggie which are the only two who know about Sophie and the have kept that secret which I was very grateful to have them to also be there for Sophie on days that me and Matt have to work a double shift. and then we were off the grocery store to pick up a few items and her new medication. and then I dropped her off at home and went to the firehouse walked in went to the chef's office let him know I was there and then I went to change.
