Red's New Kanto Adventure

Chapter One: The Beginning:

I woke up this morning after barely getting any sleep the night before. I was sitting on my bed sweating because I was excited and scared on what was about to happen. I was getting my first Pokemon! The choices! Theirs Charmander, Cyndaquil, Squirtle, Totodile, Bulbasaur, and Chikorita! “Ugh! I have no idea who to choose!” I blurted out loud enough to wake up my Mom.

“Red, are you okay?” she asked.

I looked around the room and looked up right into her bright brown eyes and said, “Yeah Mom, I’m fine. I’m just excited. I mean, today isn’t only the day I get my first Pokemon, it’s also my seventeenth birthday.”

She looked at me and said, “Yeah I know… I can’t believe you’ll be leaving today… It’ll be hard to compensate without you around.” She looked down at the floor and back up at me, a tear forming underneath her right eye.

“Mom, don’t worry. I’ll be fine. I mean after all Terrance and Tony will be with me.”

“I know. I’m happy that they will be going with you. It’ll be fun to go on an adventure with some of your best friends.” She said.

She left me in my room, and I stood up. I was still shirtless from the night before. The sweat had dried, but I still needed a shower before I left for the lab. After all it was only about 6:00 AM and we didn’t have to be there till 9:00 AM. So I grabbed a towel wrapped it around my body and headed to the shower. Once I got out, I headed back to my room and sat on my bed. This was going to be my last few hours in my room after all. I started putting on my pants and shirt.

Mom walked up the stairs and knocked on my bedroom door and said, “Red, breakfast is ready. Come down when you’re ready to eat.”

“Okay Ma.” I said with a sigh. I finished putting on my clothes which consisted of black pants, a white undershirt, and a red vest. I opened up my door and I started walking down the stairs and I said, “Damn, I forgot my cap.” I walked back up the stairs and into my room again and grabbed the red cap sitting on my desk, and then I continued to walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. Mom was placing two plates on the table when I walked in. I went over to the fridge and grabbed the Orange-Juice and a glass, and walked back over to the table and poured it in.

“Red, do you have everything packed and ready for your trip?”

“Uhh… I think I do…” I walked over to the bag that was hanging on the closet door and I picked it up. I started searching through the contents and checking off the checklist. “Yeah, Ma I have everything.”

“Okay good. Well get over here and eat. It’s almost 8:30!”

I walked over to the table sat down and ate the pancakes and eggs that Mom had made. It was almost 8:40 by the time I finished. The lab was only a five minutes by walking, I still had time then. So I sat down on the living room couch and turned on the TV, it was a program on the Pokemon that Professor Oak would be handing out today. The Pokemon were Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. This is something that I’ve known for a while now. I’ve done a lot of studying on each and every Pokemon within the selection. It was almost 8:47 when a knock came from the door, so I got up and opened the door to see Tony. Just this time… There was something different about him. Maybe it was because of what he was wearing, a nice leather jacket wrapped snugly around a dark grey button up shirt with the faded blue jeans. But the things that never changed about him were his hair and his eyes. The steel color and the hazel brown could never be any different. It matched him great.
