Joey

Chapter two

          I smiled at my reflection as I brushed my Chestnut brown hair which was curled at the tip so it is shoulder length.
Today, I am applying red lipstick, hmm really chic, I smacked my lips after applying it. What the hell, I've never been in a good mood on a Monday morning, I could see the sparkle in my brown eyes.
   Crap, it's because of Austin freaking Black who happens to be my best friend's ex. I groaned as I used baby wipes to clean the lipstick off I'm sure he hooked up with one of his mates.
  I need to get over my crush for him ASAP. I can't help my stupid feelings but I do a good job at hiding it well. I reached for my pink lip balm and applied it, smacking my lips. Steve Austin Academy is a private school so we have to wear uniforms and when I mean private I mean expensive so you have to be loaded to attend except you are a scholarship kid.
       Our uniform for boys it's brown trousers, White shirt, red tie and a blue blazer. For the girls, A short pattern flare skirt,white shirt,red tie, blue blazer with long  black socks, long enough to reach a little under the knee and a black shoe. A lot of students violate the school's dress code, some girls wear heels instead of the normal shoe and socks. My friends are one of the regular offenders but I remain miss-goody-two-shoes as Stephanie always calls me.
          Abby barges in, she attends Steve Austin middle school.
"Do I have to put a card board outside and write knock till I let you in?"
I glared at her.
She smiled at me.
"I'm not going to argue with you cause I have a new week revolution which is don't argue with Joey"
I snorted, she does this every week and before the middle of the week she would have broken her dumb revolution.
"Just get out of here" I told her.
She reached for my red lipstick and applied it.
" I'm sure that's not allowed"
" The teachers don't care" she shrugged smacking her lips.
      " Who are you trying to impress?". I ask.
        " Mind your business".  Abby walked out.
" My lipstick is my business" I yelled as I heard the horn of Persephone's Porsche. I quickly reached for my bag and flew down stairs.
   " Hey Alta"
She smiled at me as she handed me my breakfast which she has packed for me. I do this every morning eat in Persephone's car while she drives me to school. I quickly run out, her car was in the drive way.
  " Hey girlfriend"  She said as I entered.
  " Hey" I quickly opened my packed breakfast.
"Can't you just go without having breakfast better still just take an apple" Percy suggested. I shrugged,  she never gets tired of telling me this so I keep telling her that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Percy always drives me to school since she got her license, I hope I pass my driving test coming up on Friday so I can finally get my license and a car.
                          
Principal Creamer ( from the loud speakers); Hello great students of Steve Austin high school hmm. Yeah, thoughts of the day. A lot of people in our society are suffering from low self esteem and it is mainly caused by how we make people feel bad about themselves. So today I want you all to boost some ones self esteem by complimenting  them like hey nice hair cut or hey I like the way you walk.....
  

He does this all the time, we are use to it, he is always having thoughts of the day. Now I know where Tobias my ex got his stupidity from our principal is his dad.
  " Joey"
I turned as Max slung her arm around my shoulder.
  "Guess what" she said smiling.
" Hmm, you and Austin are back"
She frowned " puh-lease do not remind me of that jerk"
"So what is it that makes you so excited? " I asked
" I am running for class president and you are going to be my campaign manager and it's a good thing cause you are the vice president of the school's register so I can win"
Max gushed.
Now let me explain. The register is the name of the school's media and  I am the vice president, we handle interviews for people running for class presidents and stuff and I'm sure what Max is asking is that I help her win.
" Maxine" I said
" No no no, when you call me Maxine the next thing that comes out of your mouth won't be nice to hear". 
She was right.
" Why do you want to run for class president?"
" To distract my self, Joey" Her lips trembled.
  "What happened?" I asked.
" Austin has a new girlfriend" Maddie announced I turned to see her and the Preacher twins.
My eyes widened. " What! He is an asshole how do you guys know he has a new girlfriend?"
" Because the cocky bastard asked Piper out in front of Max" Stephanie said.
  " And she said yes " Max cleared her throat " that is why I need a distraction"
  I was angry how could Austin do that to Max or maybe I was angry at the fact the he asked Piper out instead of me.
  " Let's not forget Piper is Joey's friend" Maddie said with a sly smile on her face.
  I ignore her, I am going to find Austin and give him a piece of my mind.
  " Where are you going?" Sondra asked.
" I'll be right back" I said as I walked out.
