Chapter twelve

We were all unusually quiet during lunch today, it's like no one felt like talking. Madison, Sondra, Stephanie, Maxine and I. Everyone looked withdrawn, it was like something shitty happened to everyone at the party, I know for sure, Maxine slept with her ex and Sondra has something that feels like a love triangle, maybe everyone has their shit to deal with, I can guess what happened to Stephanie since Claudia is not sitting at our table today and maybe Maddie is just worried about her parents divorce.

But, I wanted to tell them my own problem I wanted to talk about it at least to one person, but I didn't want to look selfish and they may say you are not the only one going through shit.

Blue Ivy's party was obviously bad luck for us.
I don't know how to deal with Ruth and even if I do, I can't seem to find her anywhere.

The bell rings and everyone stood up, This was so unlike us.

I was having a free period now so I just walked to the pool, it's been a while.
Unfortunately for me Tobias was there and he sighted me before I could bolt and he jogged up to me.

" Hey baby girl" He ran his hands through his wet hair he has just his boxer short on which is really wet since he just got out of the pool and it is sticking to his body making a part of his body I don't want to look at obvious.

" Did you get your dad to make me a co-host?" I ask.

" You always wanted to do that, you told me while we were dating remember?"

" Yeah, but we are not dating anymore so why did you do it?" I ask.

" I just want to be your friend, I texted you but you didn't reply my texts" He said as he pick up a towel to dry his hair.

" I lost my phone" I replied tiers of saying that sentence.

" I see you are making new friends, Montgomery is a really surprising choice for you Joey" Tobias chuckles.

I was alarmed.
" What do you mean?"

" I heard you guys hooked up at the party" He shrugged.

Oh my God. I tried to steady my breathing and not freak out.

" Who told you that?" I ask.

" Some guys were talking about it, but seriously I thought you were more into Hunter"

Okay why does everyone think that?.

" I was drunk, I didn't know what I was doing and I am not into Hunter or any other boy" I reply him with a scowl on my face.

He smirked at me, " So you are into girls now, that is so fucking hot"

I frowned " fuck off"
I stood up and walked out of the pool area I could hear his laughter.
" Come on Miller" I know a lot of useless and stupid boys.

I heard the voice of boys chattering and laughing, I recognize their voices, it was Bryce and some other lacrosse players, I quickly hid till they left and was out of sight.

Oh God, I can't continue like this and that fucked up Cody isn't ready to tell me anything.

I groaned.

I sighted Ruth and quickly followed her thinking of the right time to confront her. I kept walking behind her but kept a little distance.
I was fidgeting and had this urge to bite my nails even if I know Abby will freak out since she is my official manicurist.

Ruth walks up to Blue ivy and Hunter and they were having a conversation and laughing.
Oh this is not good, I was still thinking of how I'll approach Ruth and now she has just walked up to the two people that love it when I'm miserable.
