To my frustration, Josh doesn't leave. So I push past him and start back across the grass. "Chloe, wait..." he calls.
I whip back around to face him, "Josh, this is ridiculous. Just go get back together with Sierra, it's really for the best." I hold my hands up, gesturing for him not to come closer, to stop trying.
He doesn't stop. He doesn't cease to try and convince me,
"Chloe, I want you..."
Dumbfounded, I stumble back, "What are you on? Josh, trust me, you're better off with Sierra-"
"-Why are you being this way? I've fallen so hard for you, it hurts."
Groaning in frustration, and my fists clenched, I take another step towards him,
"Why me? I'm about as sane as Amanda Bynes and have been kicked out of eleven foster homes!"
Really, out of all the girls are Ridgewater High, why on Earth would it be me who steals the heartthrob? I've only been in this town for two days, and I've already screwed with the balance of everything.
Josh takes one more step, "That doesn't mean you're a bad person. You just have bad luck and awful timing. I can see the real you, how sweet and beautiful you are."
Okay, this guy has to be high. How could anyone think that I'm sweet? I've only spoken a few words in school, and those were, 'At least mine are real.' But, he clearly is in his right mind, so I just shake my head,
"I'm really not." A whoop of hollers goes up from a group of kids playing Spin the Bottle, "Seriously, maybe next time you should look before you fall, because I'm not that girl."
Josh still isn't giving in, "I think you are."
Oh my god. I can't do this anymore, "I don't do relationships! And I certainly don't do love!"
The screams escape my mouth, and my voice cracks with emotion. Before he can speak another word, I march back into the Tavern. I need to get out of here, but first I have to find Kendall.
I spot her surrounded by a crowd of people, dancing rather scandalously and holding up two red Solo cups over her head.
"Just my luck..." I murmur, pushing past a few guys to reach her before this gets humiliating.
"Kendall, we have to go!"
"No!" she shrieks, and some people cheer. Idiots. Why did I even come here? I don't like rich kids, and I honestly don't care what happens to Kendall.
"Come ON!" I yell, tugging in her arm. She jerks her hand upwards, and gasps as the beer in her cup sloshes out. My eyes widen and I try to jump away, but it lands all over my dress.
"We're going. Now." I snap, dragging Kendall out of the Tavern in a fit of rage. ⠀
