Chapter 7: The Break-up

"Are you sure about this, guys?" Josh nervously asked.

"Absolutely." Niall confidently said.

"Yep. Hundred percent." Anna added.

The rest of us just nodded and gestured for Josh to go over to Katherine.

We had to drag Josh to go in front of Katherine and her friends' table, because he was already frozen on his previous spot.

As soon as he was in place, we left him and moved away, but not far enough, so we can see what was happening.

He cleared his throat and started strumming his guitar.

"If I don't say this now, I will surely break..." He started off.

"Be my baby, oh, oh, oh..." He finished off, while slowly walking over to Katherine and handing her a rose. Leaving the girl bewildered.

He got down on one knee and asked, "Katherine Jay Calder. Can I court you?"

Her friends and all the witnesses cooed.

She looked around the people surrounding her before answering.

"Yes." She sweetly said with a genuine smile.

One word. Three letters. That was all it took for the whole cafeteria to burst in screams of glee.

We quickly went over to him and wrapped him into a hug.

"Congratulations, Joshie!" Anna cheered.

"This is your chance, lad!" Niall said.

"Thank you to all of you. None of this would've happened without any of you." He said with sincerity.

"It's our pleasure." Cathey said.

"No problem, Josh." I said.

Jessica just patted him on his back.

"I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THAT, CLAUDIA!" A voice yelled out. Loud enough for everyone in the cafeteria to hear. Our heads turned to see who I'd the owner of the voice.

Cael.

"LISTEN TO ME, WILL YOU!?" Another voice said. Claudia.

"I WON'T! I KNOW WHAT I SAW! I AM NOT BLIND! THIS IS ALSO NOT THE FIRST NOR EVEN THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED!" Cael gritted through his teeth. I never seen him so angry.

"B-but, Romeo..." Claudia tried to call out; in the verge of tears.

Cael heavily sighed. His anger is still evident on his face.

"No," he said firmly, "I won't take any of your bullshit anymore. We are through." He said then walked away from Claudia.
Huh. I wonder what happened...

Tears started falling down her cheeks. When she realized that she was in a public place, she immediately wiped her tears away and looked around her.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL STARING AT!?" That made all of us look away from the scene. And we all went back to our own businesses.

"So, this is where you'll stand during the scene and go over to him when you deliver your line, all right?" I nodded.

The bell rang on cue.

"That's it for today, every one." I started to pack up.

"Oh, Cassandra, make sure Romeo is here by tomorrow, all right?" I nodded.

"Bye, guys! See you tomorrow!" I said as I headed towards the road I'm going to take to reach my house.

I started walking. While walking, I remembered how Josh asked to court Katherine. I smile crept across my face and I tapped the straps of my backpack to the beat of the song Josh sang.

"If I don't say this now, I will surely break~"

"You really have a beautiful voice." A voice said from behind me. A very familiar voice. It was as if it belongs to,

"Cael. What are you doing here?" I asked as I turned to face him.

"I'm going home. You?"

"I'm headed for home as well."

"Oh good."

An uncomfortable silence filled our surrounding.

"Listen," he started off, "I'm sorry for my outburst yesterday. I went all protective over someone who clearly wasn't worth breaking a newfound friendship for."

Wow.

"Um, honestly, I was hurt of what you said to me yesterday. I didn't expect it at all. And for the record, I'm nowhere near Claudia, and I have no intentions to be near her. She's my bully after all."

"Bully? Claudia? Really?" He asked. Clearly surprised.

"Yep. We used to be classmates back in my old school. She is as popular as she is now. Like I said before, I was a bullied girl. Very ugly and only a wallflower. I was always her and her follower's target. I never knew why."

"Ugly? You?" He snorted at what he said. "She definitely has an ugly heart. But a poor eyesight? You are one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. Your beauty must be Hogwarts...because only those who are worthy can see it." He winked.

OH MY FREAKING GLOB. HE READ THE SERIES!?

"YOU KNOW HARRY POTTER!?" I asked with wide eyes.

"Who wouldn't? Best series of all time."

"No way! Who's your favorite character?"

"Rubeus Hagrid. You?"

"Hermione! What about your fave book from the series?"

"Well..."

This going to be such a long walk...
