"So he just said that to you and left you?" Anna asked in disbelief.
I nodded my head while still looking down at the floor.
"That is so unlike him." Catheleen added.
"Tch. It's all because of that bitch, isn't it?"
I looked down, still feeling the pain.
"He's just a boy, Cass." Catheleen said.
She's right. He's just a boy. I mean, I don't even like him, why was I letting him affect me?
"Thanks, guys." I said gratefully at them.
"What are friends for, baba?" Anna winked.
I'm so touched by these girls that I feel like crying right now.
"Girls!" A muffled voice called out. Oh no...what now, mum?
The doorknob clicked and we all turned to the door.
"Care for some biscuits?" The girls all clapped including me, because hey why not? Those are biscuits, duh.
Mum left the plate of biscuits in the center of our circle and left the room.
They were having mum's biscuit for the first time so I waited for their reaction.
"Holy guacamole! This is wonderful!" Cathey said.
"Am I in heaven?!" Anna exclaimed.
"I am lost for words." Jess said.
I laughed at their priceless reactions then got a biscuit for myself.
Mum came back with a pot of tea and teacups on a tray. Man, she's really supportive. Well, they're my very first friends so why wouldn't she be?
I decided to invite them over earlier after what happened.
I mean, I don't like the guy but what he did was really hurtful; considering he was my first friend - or at least he was my first acquaintance.
"Can we play truth or dare?" Cathey (Catheleen) suggested.
"Ohhhh, I'd love to play!" Anna said.
"Count me in." Jess said while sitting beside Cathey.
I just shrugged and joined in.
~•~
It was Anna's turn and I was the one to make her tell the truth or make a dare for her...depends on what she chooses.
"Truth or dare?"
"Truth!"
I thought about it for a moment.
"Who do you like?" I've a hunch on who it is. I just want to confirm my suspicions.
"Uhm...I--AHH! ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! IT'S MALIK!" She screamed. I may be small but never underestimate my strength.
"I knew it! Ha!" I said in satisfaction.
"Anna! Is he really?" Cathey asked.
"Yes! Wait! Cass, how did you know?"
"I caught you stealing glances of him during Maths."
"Am I that obvious?"
"That or Cassandra's an awfully good observer." Jess answered.
"Why do you like him though?" Cathey curiously asked.
"I don't know, I just - I'm just attracted, okay? He's just got that vibe or something. There's just something about the boy."
"Huh. He's always been the mysterious type." Jess said.
"Exactly why. I always see him in the hallways and whenever I see him, I can't help but watch him until he disappears from my sight."
"Girl, he got you good." Cathey commented.
"I know. And I got it bad." Anna added.
"Wait! I think Malik hangs around with Josh sometimes." Jess said.
"What? Really?" Anna excitedly asked.
"See for yourself tomorrow." I said with a smirk.
"Can you guys keep it dooooown? I feel sleepyyyy." Cathey said with a yawn.
I smiled. "Let's all go to sleep then."
"Good night, ladies." Cathey said.
"Good night." The rest of us said in unison.
