"Heeeyyy, if it isn't my favorite kidnapping victim."

  "..."

You grinned down at Hawks as you rocked back and forth on your heels, waiting for a clever response like he usually gave you. Unfortunately, he didn't even look at you, let alone acknowledge your presence. The handsome hero sighed heavily and shifted in his chair, glancing around the observatory like it was some sort of new environment he had yet to discover. You blinked with confusion, crouching down to meet his eyes.

"You deaf or something? I said hi."

Hawks still ignored you, staring down at his shoes like a bored teenager at a parent-teacher conference as his feet moved back and forth on the floor. A sense of uncomfortableness welled up inside of you with his actions and you pursed your lips, eyeing him nervously. You waved your hand in front of his face, tilting your head and letting out a small, anxious laugh.

"Helloooo? Earth to Hawks? Bird Boy?"

Hawks glanced at you for a second, then let out a deep exhale and leaned his head back against the back of the chair. You whined and tugged at his jacket like a puppy needy for attention, growing more and more impatient by the second. A few minutes of silence passed by, and you finally snapped. You threw yourself onto him and buried your face in his shoulder, huffing as if you were a spoiled child.

"Stop ignoring me, you dumb bird, you're boring me..."

Hawks raised a brow and hummed, staring up at the ceiling blankly. "You ever gonna give me an apology for the things you said about me yesterday? Oh, sorry, I forgot. You're a villain, so you're automatically just like the rest of the crowd."

"Okay, you don't have to make a point. I may be a villain, but I'm not an asshole." You snorted and sat on his lap, pulling back to look him in the eyes. "I'm sorry for bruising your fragile ego with my big mean words, chicken wing."

Hawks raised a brow, then chuckled a bit, shaking his head. "That's good enough for now, I guess."

You felt a large smile grow on your face with the silky smooth sound of his voice, relief washing over you for some reason unknown to yourself. You wrapped your arms around him and snuggled into his body, closing your eyes and letting out a small content sigh.

"Are you still mad at me?"

"Why do you care so much? Aren't I just a hypocritical piece of shit hero?"

"Stop using my own words against me. And it's because you're actually interesting and nice to kidnap, or something."

"Wooowww, singing my praises now? I almost wish I could hug you right now." Hawks laughed, shifting his body closer to you so you could embrace him more. You pulled away from him and stared into his eyes seriously, raising your hands up to cup his face.

"If I cut you loose for a bit, you gotta promise not to escape too early."

Hawks stared back at you with surprise, a lopsided grin painting his lips.

"Yeah, sure. I would hate to leave the party early, anyways."

You let out a happy chirp and got off of his lap, using your quirk to slice his bonds off. Hawks stood up slowly and stretched, closing his eyes and leaning to the side, before letting them flutter back open to connect with yours. You stared at him for a minute, taking in the finely sculpted features of his face, before being shocked out of your trance by the feeling of warmth enveloping your body. Hawks hugged you carefully, his wings wrapping around the both of you like some sort of protective cocoon as he murmured in your ear.

  "You're so easy to convince..."

You felt your face heat up and you tensed up a bit, slowly hugging him back and burying your face in the fluff of his jacket. The smell of cinnamon floated around your new little bubble, along with the comforting warmth being emitted from the winged man's body. Hawks used a hand to gently pet your head, his other arm effortlessly embracing you. Taking all of these factors into account, your heart fluttered non-stop in your chest, and you found yourself trying to get closer to him, if possible. A low chuckle rumbled in his throat as he stroked your head, making your heart seem to skip a beat.

"This is nice, right? Having some affection given to you?"

"You're making it sound like I have daddy issues. Shush."

Hawks burst out laughing, his wings retracting back into his shoulder blades and his eyes staring down at you with a sense of amusement.  You stared back at him, your lips parted and your skin prickling with what felt like electricity where he had previously embraced you. Hawks gently took your hand in his and pressed a gentle kiss to it, then let go, grinning.

"I'll see you soon, little angel."

Your heart pounded like a drum in your chest as you watched Hawks fly out of the observatory, a shaky breath escaping your mouth as you squeezed your hands to stop yourself from squealing. What the hell was this man doing to you?

You didn't know, but you didn't exactly mind.
