Consciousness melted into Winter's mind and he felt the soft touch heated scales against his own. He felt the soft blow of someone's breath on his forehead as he moved slightly.

opening his eyes, Winter blinked a few times, wondering if he was still dreaming.

w-was that..Qibli's body he was pressed up against?! no..it couldn't be...why would the handsome sandwing EVER be even near Winter's bed??

his heart started racing as he felt more and more sure that was the case, icy cold blood rushed to his face. rapid thoughts filled his mind.

i-is he awake yet? did he come last night? why would he do THAT? oh moons, did I say something in my sleep?

WINTER YOU USELESS FISH PUSH HIM AWAY!!!

but.....he couldn't bring himself to. it just felt so..good..so...right. like a thrill he'd never get sick of.

so...he stayed. right where he was. only breathing and secretly enjoying the moment.

he closed his eyes shut again, hoping that if Qibli was awake, he'd just assume Winter was still asleep.

Qibli felt Winter's body shift slightly under his wing and the Icewing's slow rhythmic breath turn into short panicky ones.

Guess he woke up...went Qibli's mind. Why isn't he doing anything?....is he...ignoring me? Pretending I'm not here?

..well what were you expecting Qibli? Him to magically love you? Ha! The nerve you have to even hope.

Maybe he just...hasn't noticed?

"Hey..." he whispered softly, not able to help the grin that grew on his face.

Even with the darker thoughts, he still wanted to smile..
Just..being this close to Winter was enough. Even if the affection wasn't exactly returned.

Yet.

But...no response came.

He said hey! The icewing prince would surely have to at least acknowledge his presence...righ-

"Why are you here..?"

An answer. Finally. It didn't seem angry..or even particularly accusing to his surprise.

"Good morning to you too"
He said,his grin widening.

As a response, Winter simply opened his eyes and gave Qibli a light glare. Telling him to answer the question.
