You stood dazed in the doorway, Sooyoung long gone inside the apartment. You could still hear the faint snorting sounds involuntarily escaping her from your apparently comic just-got-out-of-bed look. You heard a muffled thud, as you shut the door and followed her back into the bedroom. And sure enough, as expected, you found her lying spread-eagled on top of your bed, covers and all. You rubbed your eyes, as you snuggled back inside the covers, still groggy from having woken up in such a rush.
She flipped over and placed a leg on your stomach, as you groaned from the weight.
"So, don't you have anything to tell me?"
Your eyes flew open, all sleep vanishing from them as it dawned on you why Sooyoung had forgone her precious sleep to come see you right in the morning.
"We'll need coffee," you mumbled as you jumped out of bed again and head to the kitchen.
Once you were settled on the couch with large mugs, the aroma of the bitter coffee already soothing your nerves, you told Sooyoung everything right from the beginning, when you had met Jungkook by accident in the park, the night of the concert. She interrupted the story to slap your arm sore when she heard that, but you quietly bore the brunt of her anger because you knew you deserved it.
She interrupted the story several times later, whenever you mentioned anything that caused her to get excited – like your first kiss, or when Jungkook gave you his bracelet, or when she realized Kookie really had come to campus to look for you, or when he had met you behind the bar and sang his song for you. The angry slaps turned to excited little slaps, but they still hurt just as much. When you reached the end, where Jungkook walked you to your door, she fell back over the couch throwing her arms to the side, with a very satisfied sigh.
"Oh no, no, no, wait, I-," she groaned as her eyes widened in horror at a sudden realization. "I threw up in front of Kookie! Nooooo!" she slapped her hands over her face.
"Calm down, it wasn't that bad," you comforted her as you giggled. "He was actually quite sweet with you, and he even hinted at you meeting Tae, remember?" you smiled fondly.
"Oh right, he did," she clapped her hands, raising her shoulders in excitement.
As you sipped your coffee, you could feel her stare dig into you.
"Girl, you're smitten," she poked a finger in your stomach to tickle you.
You leaned back on the couch giggling and tried to scoot away from her reach. "Wha- no, no I'm nottt," you groaned as her tickles persisted.
"Look at you, you totally are," she scoffed, "Why do you have to lie to me?"
"Sooyoung-ah, I can't let myself fall for him, at least not this quickly," you smiled at her weakly.
"As if you can control that," she scoffed again. "And why can't you fall quickly? If it's right, it's right, no point questioning it," she sipped on her coffee as she fondly stroked your hair.
You smiled to yourself at Sooyoung's choice of words.
"And how I see it, it feels like he has fallen for you too and has made that very clear," she said as she pulled you closer to lean into her. You settled your head in the nook of her neck and sighed.
"What are you afraid of Y/N?" she whispered thoughtfully, planting a kiss on your forehead. "Let your guard down and let him in, he has literally told you and me that he likes you."
"I have let him in," you replied meekly.
"Well, have you actually told him that you like him too? Because I don't remember that coming up in your story," she pulled you off herself to look you in the eyes.
