When they were inside Hagrid's hut, Harry, Ron and Hermione all sat down next to each other at the table while waiting for Hagrid to tell them what they needed to help him do. "Hey um, Hermione? What is wrong with Charlie? Why does he get ill that easily?" Ron asked. Hermione looked at him and shrugged before looking away from him. She had fear in her face that if she told Harry and Ron the truth about Charlie, they would either get scared, run away or badly hurt or worse, wind up dead. But she wanted to tell them as she knew that the truth is going to come out, one way or another. Ron and Harry got very suspicious. "Ah. There we go." Hagrid said as he took out a round object from his cauldron over a fire in the middle of the table. Ron was about to touch it when Hermione smacked his hand away. "No. No. It's very hot Ron, so no touching unless ya want to burn yer' fingers." explained Hagrid. "What is that thing?" asked Harry. "It's a dragon egg!" Hermione exclaimed as Hagrid nodded. "Yer' are correct 'Ermione." Just then the egg began to shake, then crack open slowly to reveal an almost cute looking baby dragon. "Aw, would you look at that? He knows his mummy." Hagrid stated as the baby dragon start making noises while looking at him before letting out a sudden sneeze, causing his beard to get on fire which startled Harry, Ron and Hermione before he quickly put it out. "Now that 'es been born, I have decided to call him Norbet. That's where all 3 of yer' come in." Harry, Ron and Hermione were all listening to what Hagrid was saying. "Yeh see, I need ya help t--" just then, they heard a twig snap outside of the hut. "Who's that?" Hagrid asked as he spotted a pair of eyes that was watching, the eyes then moved back towards the castle as Harry noticed a familiar blonde amount of hair when he went over to the window. "Malfoy..." he said sternly as Malfoy ran back inside the castle, making him, Ron and Hermione flee from Hagrid's hut in an attempt to get back to their dorms before they got in trouble. So when they got back inside of the castle, they were greeted by a familiar witch in her green night robes and hat. "Good evening." Professor Mcgonagall said as Malfoy appeared at her side with a smirk on his face.

"Nothing, I mean nothing gives any student the right to not be asleep in their respective dorms at this hour off of the school grounds. And to ensure that something like this never happens again, all 4 of you will be receiving detention tomorrow night and I will be deducting 50 points." Professor Mcgonagall explained once they were all in her office. Harry, Ron and Hermione were all shocked, but Harry was the one that was the most shocked. "50?!" he asked as his mouth with his mouth hung open. "Each." Harry, Ron and Hermione all looked at each other before looking back at Mcgonagall. "Pardon me, Professor." Malfoy said in a polite voice, it was perhaps the only time that Harry, Ron and Hermione hear Malfoy sound polite. "Perhaps I heard you wrong, but I thought that I heard you say all 4 of us." "No, you heard me correctly, Mr Malfoy. All 4 of you will meet Mr Filch tomorrow night by the entrance to the school grounds. Now off you all go to bed." she explained. The next night after not seeing Charlie all day as Harry and Ron thought that he was still ill and being treated by Madam Pomfrey, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Malfoy all followed Filch. "Gosh, I miss the old punishments that they used to have back in the old days." Filch sneered. They reached Hagrid's hut where Hagrid was waiting for them with Fang, who was a dog.

"Trouble this lot, Hagrid. Mcgonagall said that they have to find a wounded unicorn in the Forbidden Forrest." Filch explained and Hagrid nodded. "What?" asked Malfoy. "We can't go in there." he continued as Filch turned around with a glare. "Students aren't allowed! And plus there are...." he paused as a howl close to where they were all standing. Hermione flinched slightly as she was thinking that it was Charlie's howl. "....werewolves." Malfoy finished. "Oh there is way worse than werewolves in those woods. I'll see you all soon if you are all still here." said Filch before he left. "Now, Ron and 'Ermione you'll come with me. 'Arry, you'll go with Malfoy." Hagrid stated. "Fine, but I get Fang." requested Malfoy. "Alrigh', but I ought to warn ya, he's a coward." Fang let out a whimper. "Now then, if anything goes wrong, send out a red spark into the air if you are in any trouble and don't forget we are lookin' for a wounded unicorn." Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco all nodded as they all went separate ways. "You know Hermione...." Ron started to say. "I am hoping that Charlie is okay, he must be very not well to not see us today. Do you think that he will be okay?" he sounded concerned and suspicious about his best friend. "I'm sure he will be fine, Ron. I heard that Madam Pomfrey is taking good care of him." Hermione replied. Ron and Hermione were continuing to search for the wounded unicorn with Hagrid when they suddenly heard a growling noise. Ron started shaking with fear." H-Hermione? Was that your............ stomach?" Hermione shrugged, despite thinking that it was Charlie. Then a bush shook and a werewolf leaped out of the bush, making Ron scream in fright as it ran towards them at a quick speed. Hagrid, who recognised that werewolf was Charlie, shouted "Get back! Both of yer!" he tried to shine his lantern in Charlie's face, hoping that the light would distract him. But it proved as things took a turn for a worse as Hermione also had recognised the werewolf was Charlie as Charlie ran past Hagrid and went directly to Hermione. His fangs gleaming in the moonlight, pounced onto her and bit her right on the back of her hand. Hermione let out a scream of pain as some of her blood came out of where Charlie's fangs were biting her. As soon as Charlie heard Hermione's scream, he stopped biting and looked at her while he was whimpering like a dog as if he recognised her. The bite was deep. "C-Charlie?" she managed to whisper, luckily for her, Ron and Hagrid didn't hear. Charlie continued to look at her while whimpering before running off into the night as he had tears in his eyes and Hermione clutched her hand. "Hermione! Hermione, are you alright?" Ron asked as he got over his fear now that the werewolf had gone. Hermione looked at him. "Y-yeah. I think so." She then looked at bite mark and realised that she had now become a muggle-born werewolf as the blood stopped, leaving a red mark on her hand but luckily for her, she didn't transform yet and they then saw a red spark in the sky.

"Sumthin' must be wrong! This way! Quick!" Hagrid quickly said as they dashed to see Harry backing up in fear from a dark hooded figure that was coming towards Harry after drinking some blood from a wounded unicorn and Harry put his hand where his scar on his forehead was as he felt a burning type of pain until he was saved by a creature of some kind that was half man and half horse while Malfoy was no where in sight as the dark hooded figure left. "You are safe now, Mr Potter. You must leave this place." it said. "Hullo' there Firenze. See you met young 'Arry 'ere." Hagrid. Firenze looked at Hagrid and nodded. "That thing you saved me from. That was Voldemort." Harry stated as Firenze looked back to Harry. "Do you know what lies beneath the school?" Harry nodded. "Of course. The Philospher's Stone." "Correct. Harry Potter, this is where I leave you." and with that, Firenze left. "So did anything happen to you?" he asked Ron and Hermione. Ron looked scared. "Well er... um...." he tried to say. "I was bitten by a werewolf." said Hermione. "You were what?!" Harry asked her. "I will tell you about it in the morning, but right now, I have to go see Madam Pomfrey. Can you please take me there, Hagrid?" she yawned as their detention was done and Hagrid nodded. Harry and Ron went to the boys dorm while Hermione went with Hagrid to see if Madam Pomfrey could treat her wound as it was still hurting her as she clutched her hand once more.
