The next morning, Harry woke up to the sound of birds chirping as the sun shone brightly through the window and at the castle grounds of Hogwarts. Today was the day that he would have his first Quidditch match as the new Gryffindor Seeker and it was against the team that he never wanted to play against: Slytherin. Once he put his robes and glasses on, he woke up Ron, who was still tired, but they knew that he had to get out of bed and have breakfast. He was still shaken about when he saw Snape's bleeding leg the night before. When they went down the stairs, they saw Hermione. She was all dressed and ready to start the day. "Good morning Hermione." Harry and Ron said in usion. "Morning Harry. Morning Ron." she replied, they all made their way to the great hall. "Hey, er Hermione? You don't suppose you have seen Charlie around, have you?" Ron asked as Hermione shook her head as she knew that Charlie was a werewolf but didn't want to tell Harry and Ron because she knew that they might freak out if they knew the truth. When they got to the great hall, they all noticed Charlie sitting at the table, tucking into his breakfast. "Charlie!" Ron exclaimed. He looked up. "Oh hey guys, good morning." he replied. "Where were you last night?" asked Harry as Hermione took a seat next to Charlie and Ron sat next to Harry opposite them. "I got ill and had to go and see Madam Pomfrey." Hermione gave Charlie a look that said 'I know what you are.' Charlie saw this and he looked frightened but chose to say nothing, instead he mouthed to her: 'Common room after this alone.' to of which she nodded. Harry then picked up a plate of food and started to play with his fork but not taking a bite to eat.
"Oh come on, Harry. Take a bite." Ron stated. "You're going to need your strength today." added Hermione. Charlie didn't know what to say. "I'm not hungry." Harry replied. Just then Snape walked by and stopped when he got to Harry, Ron, Charlie and Hermione. "Good luck today, Potter. Now you have proven yourself against a Troll, a little game of Quidditch should be easy work for you. Even if it is against Slytherin." he finished as he limped away. Just then, Harry noticed something. "That explains the blood." he said. "Blood?!" Hermione and Charlie questioned, they were shocked. Then Harry started to explain while whispering. "You mean that dog that you encountered on Halloween was guarding the Philosopher's Stone and Snape wants to steal it?" Charlie asked as they all looked at him. Charlie knew of the Philosopher's Stone, but he always thought that it was a myth, he read about it before he even came to Hogwarts, but could not find a name as to who created it. Only Harry nodded. "Charlie, may I have a word with you out of here?" Hermione asked as Charlie nodded as they went out of the Great Hall back to the Gryffindor Common Room, away from Harry and Ron so they would not be disturbed. "Alright, Charlie. Spill the beans." "What beans, Hermione? There aren't any beans for me to spill." he joked with a chuckle, but Hermione wasn't laughing. "You know what I mean." she said annoyed. "Now tell me...... Charlie...... are you.....?" she began to ask. ".....yeah?" Charlie asked. What Hermione asked next next made Charlie freeze in place, he was no longer smiling. "Are you a werewolf?" Charlie was lost for words. "How'd you--" "When you told me that you had a good sense of smell as I have read that werewolves are known to have that." Charlie's world was then spinning around like he was going crazy. Now Hermione knew his secret as well of his secret as well as the teachers, the leader of the orphanage and his friend at the orphanage. He said down, he covered his face in sadness. "Great. Fantastic." He sarcastically stated. "Now you know as well. Are you afraid of me, Hermione?" She then took a seat next to him. "Well, actually I am a bit, but that is because of you not telling me sooner." she moved closer to him. "Do you suppose that you could please not tell Harry and Ron? I'm afraid that they may freak out and start calling me a freak." Hermione then engulfed him in a tight hug in an effort to comfort him. "You're not a freak, Charlie. And I won't tell Harry and Ron. I promise." Charlie then hugged her tightly back with a small smile on his face. "Thank you, Hermione." Charlie then owled the orphanage, saying that Hogwarts was going well and met not 1, but 3 more friends. He mentioned how much respect he has gotten, especially with Hermione, but he had also mentioned how she had worked out the truth about him, saying she was scared because of him not telling her sooner and he would be returning to orphanage for Christmas. Later that day, Harry's first Quidditch match as the Gryffindor Seeker in the match against Slytherin. Things were going really well, Hagrid, Ron, Neville, Hermione and Charlie were cheering Harry on when all of a sudden his broom he got as a present from Professor Mcgonagall went out of control and attempted to throw him off. "My god. What on earth is going on with 'Arry's broomstick?" Hagrid called out as took a look at Harry with his binoculars before handing them over to Hermione at her request as she took at Harry before she noticed Snape who was at the opposite stand muttering something. "It's Snape! He's jinxing the broom!" she exclaimed. "Jinxing the broom?!" Ron panicked. Thinking quickly, Hermione handed the binoculars over to Charlie and ran to the stand opposite where she, Ron, Neville and Charlie were all sitting. Charlie had a look at Snape before noticing Professor Quirrel, who was sitting near Snape with his hands in almost like a praying like position. He could tell that something was off about him, he just didn't know what it was yet, it was almost like he was the one who was jinxing the broom and not Snape who was muttering like a counter curse in order to save Harry. When Hermione got back, Charlie whispered to her "What did you do?" "I lit his robes on fire." she whispered back. When they looked back at Harry, Harry was no longer having trouble with controlling the broom, he was reaching for the snitch as he was so close to it when he fell off of it close to ground. When he stood back up, he was reaching. Everyone noticed it. "Looks like he's gonna be sick!" Hagrid said as he took back the binoculars. Just then the snitch popped out of Harry's mouth and into his hands. "He's got the snitch!" Ron called out. Just then, everyone heard Madam Hooch blew her whistle and shout "Gryffindor wins!" the Gryffindors erupted, Charlie and Hermione cheered the loudest as the Slytherin's looked on in disappointment as Harry showed everyone the snitch as he had a smile on his face as a majority of the Gryffindors were cheering things like "Harry!" and "Go go Gryffindor!" multiple times over.
