"Easy there, Mr Longbottom. We are almost there." Madam Hooch said as she and Charlie were carrying him to the medical wing. "Here we are. Now take it easy with lying him down, Mr Turner." Charlie was very gentle. "I'm sorry, Madam Hooch. I didn't mean--" Neville started to explain. "Hush. It wasn't your fault, Neville. You were just nervous about flying." Charlie explained. "T-thank you, Charlie." Neville answered. "Thank you for your help, Mr Turner, now you may return to class as soon as possible." Madam Hooch said as she left. "My lord, what happened here?!" Madam Pomfrey demanded as she came out of her office. "Madam Pomfrey. Neville broke his wrist during our first flying lesson because of his broom going completely out of control, making him smack against the castle walls." said Charlie. She turned to face Neville "Is this true?" Neville could only nod. "Well then, if you don't mind, I will be working to make him well again. Now I will not have anyone in here while I tend to him. Understand?" Charlie nodded and was about to leave when he saw a newspaper, the headline was: 'GRINGOTTS BREAK IN!!!' "Madam Pomfrey. Do you mind if I could take this paper please?" she nodded as Charlie took it and then left. Soon, he found Harry, Ron and Hermione in the hall talking about something. "Quidditch is great, Harry. Best game there is." he heard Ron say. "Did somebody say 'Quidditch'? Charlie asked. "Charlie!" Hermione shouted when she saw him and gave him a hug. "How is Neville?" Ron asked. "He's going to be fine. He is staying in the medical wing. Now, what is all this talk about Quidditch?" "Harry has just made the Quidditch team for Gryffindor. The youngest seeker in a century." continued Ron as Hermione took Harry by the hand which made Charlie a bit jealous, but thought that Hermione was doing it in a way that was friendly only as he decided to not show his jealousy and lead him to a glass cabinet. Charlie and Ron followed as Hermione then pointed to an achievement once she had let go of Harry's hand. It read: James Potter Gryffindor Seeker.
Harry, Ron and Charlie were shocked. "You never told us that your father was a seeker, Harry! " exclaimed Ron. "I.... didn't know." "Hey. What is that paper, Charlie?" Hermione asked as soon as she saw the newspaper Charlie's arm. "Come on. I'll tell you three in the hall." Later, they were all sitting down. Charlie was telling them about it. "So let me get this straight: someone broke into Gringotts in an attempt to steal something from Vault 713?" questioned Ron. "That's werid. That's the vault Hagrid and I went to. Hagrid took something out and he said that it was Hogwarts Business Very Secret." explained Harry. Charlie then sniffed the air, picking up an unusual scent. "Hey Charlie, you got a cold or something?" Hermione asked. "No no. I just have a good sense of smell that's all." Hermione's eyes then widened as she worked out the truth about Charlie, but chose to say nothing about it for now. The next day was October 31st, Halloween and after Harry had learnt how Quidditch was played, it was time for Charms class with Professor Flitwick. "Now today class, we will be learning how to make objects levitate, or in other words fly. Do you all have your feathers ready?" Hermione held up hers and Charlie, who was sitting next to her, held up his. "Good." Flitwick continued as Hermione and Charlie rested their feathers back down. "Now, we'll be starting with a simple method. Will you each of you take out your wands, wave it and say "Swish and Flick." all the students repeated it. "We can now say the spell name: Wingardium Leviosa. Now, do the same swish and flick method while saying that." and so everyone did so, Ron was trying too, but it didn't work so he was waving his wand violently over it. Hermione noticed this. "Stop. Stop. Stop. You're going to take someone's eye out. Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's 'Leviosa', not 'Leviosar' Ron was only annoyed a little bit but tried again, he still couldn't do it. But Hermione and Charlie did it successfully which annoyed Ron even further. "Oh ho. Well done. See here everyone. Miss Granger and Mr Turner have done it. Ha ha." Professor Flitwick called out. After the class had ended, Ron was talking with Harry and Charlie. "'It's Leviosa, not Leviosar.'" he said as he mocked Hermione. What he said next made Charlie almost snap. "She's a nightmare. Honestly. No wonder she hasn't got any friends." Hermione then pushed past Ron, clutching her books and sounded like she was crying. This made Charlie stop dead in his tracks, he took hold of Ron and pinned him against the castle wall by his neck." I'll have you know that I and Harry are her friends, Weasley! You can be a right git you know! And you are lucky enough that I do not hex you! Don't you dare talk about Hermione that way again, or I will not hesitate to make you cry yourself! UNDERSTAND?!" Charlie almost shouted. Ron could only nod as Charlie then released him, allowing Ron to catch his breath. "Now if you'll both excuse me, I need to have a word with Professor Dumbledore!" Harry went up to Charlie to ask him if he could go with him. Charlie shook his head. "Alone!" he said to Harry before he continued on his way.
