. Shikamaru was going to drive since he knew the quickest short cuts to Konoha. Temari sat in the passenger seat and the rest of us sat in the back. I sat on the back seat behind drivers side, Gaara sat in the middle and Matsuri sat behind Temari. The three of us were all squished together in the tight space we had in the back. We started heading to Konoha, where the celebration was going to be held. There was a popular night club there where everyone from different villages go to party . Its so famous its hard to get in but since Gaara is Kazekage there was no issue getting an invite and getting a good v.i.p section for all our friends.

The girls were loud and laughing like a bunch of hyenas. Gaara was silent as always and Shikamura already seemed annoyed with the girls obnoxious laughter. I looked out the window watching the passing street lights taking a sip of my beer I brought from home. " Come on live a little boys ! It's my birthday we're here to have some fun !" Temari pleaded. " Temari turned her head to look at me. " Its kind of a good thing we're meeting Sari at the club, there wouldn't be any room for her in the car, she would've sat on your lap kankuro." she teased. Matsuri looked at her phone in silence changing her smiling face to sadness before passing the phone to Temari. Temari read the text message and her laughter also died out. Everyone noticed the sudden change of behavior and the car got quiet . " Hey Temari , is everything okay?" Shikamaru asked in concern. Temari didn't respond and handed the phone back to Matsuri. I had a gut feeling it had to something to with Sari. "Temari, was it Sari who just texted???" I asked. Temari turned around to look at me with a face you give to someone before giving them bad news. " Yea it was, she said she isn't coming tonight......I am sorry Kankuro" Temari softly responded. Everyone was silent.

" Kankuro I know you werent thrilled to go the club to begin with. You don't have to force yourself If you dont want to go . I understand If you want stay back home. " Temari replied feeling like everything was her fault.

Shikamaru turned to Temari and whisper " if we turn around now we're going to late"
