Chapter 11: Food!
I shot up out of bed and looked around the room, right to left. And on the right side of my bed was my two favorite people in the world. My roommates. I shot a glare their way while they burst into laughter. I then got the best idea ever. I got out of bed, careful not to let my hair drip on the floor and walked up behind the two clowns, calling out, "Shower time!!"
As I shook my dripping wet locks and drenched their pajamas. They looked at me, both shocked and impressed. "Well..." I trailed off and waited a second before frantically running to the restroom screaming behind me, "I GET THE BATHROOM FIRST!" And as soon as I got there, I locked the door, and realized I didn't have my robes with me. I quickly ran to my trunk, got what I needed and hauled booty to get back before they noticed I had left the restroom unattended. Then, behind the locked door I heard Sammy mutter something and Bex laugh loudly like a maniac.
Yep. We probably woke up 1/2 of Gryffindor that morning. But we were on the top floor. It didn't matter to me as I got into the shower and started humming a song I heard on the radio in the music store I hung out by after I left the orphanage. I think it was called 'Stupid Girls' by this artist called P!nk. She's AMAZING! Anyhow. I took about a ten minute shower, got changed, found out that I did have bruises all over my back (from falling down the stairs) and redressed the bandage on my shoulder; then, when I left the bathroom Sammy jumped in front of me. Bex was no where to be seen. Great.
"Let's go get breakfast!" She yelled in my face as she grabbed my hand and dragged me down the stairs to the common room where I saw Fred, George and Charlie all standing by the stairs to the boys' dorms.
I dug my heels into the floor long enough to turn back, look at them with a pleading look and call out, "Help me!!She's mad!" They all looked from me to Sammy, whom was now prying my hand from the railing I had latched onto.
She grunted while attempting to budge my hand even more so, "Gosh-you've got an iron grip don't ya..." The boys looked at us with amusement. And I knew if Sammy didn't stop tugging on my wrist soon, it would fall off.
Charlie finally chuckled to himself then sighed, "Sammy, do I have to tell Professor McGonagall that you're torturing this poor first year?" I knew he wasn't a tattle tale, and he was just joking, but I also knew he was a prefect which meant he might not be joking.
She sighed in defeat, whining, "Come on Charlie! I was trying to get my roommate here to breakfast." as she let my wrist go. But trust me, the second I got out of her grip, I realized that the bruises given to me by Flint now had bruises over them. That would be hard to hide. No matter, because now that I was free, I walked over to the twins and sighed, earning matching chuckles from them. I also noticed Lee wasn't there. He must've already been at breakfast.
Leaning over to them, I whispered, "We should get out of here while we can." They nodded in agreement and slid over to the portrait hole, silently sneaking out of the room. After we were out, we made a break for the great hall. We needed food. My stomach clearly voiced its need for food when it growled, ten feet away from the great hall. I sighed happily, "Food!" And took off to the doors. Of the great hall, leaving the guys in my wake of dust.
Upon entering the great hall, my nose was greeted by two things, the smell of bacon and another person's chest. We both backed away, apologizing and blushing profusely. After we sorted out which way we were going, I looked up at him. And he put his hand out to shake mine. I paused for a moment and shook it saying, "Lucinda Black, Lucy to my friends."
He looked at me and said, "I'm Cedric Diggory. My friends call me Cedric. But I hope we can be friends Lucinda?"
"I said my friends call me Lucy. So, why so formal just call me Lucy." He laughed in response and walked away, calling behind him
"Bye Lucy."
