A/N: this is the longest one-shot i've written! it's in celebration of 700 followers on my tumblr account! the relationship is in chronological order during the fic. since there's a smut scene included, i've placed it at the bottom of the page in order for minors to still be able to read. i hope you understand and happy reading!

there is the common use of the phrase "falling in love."

it can be inferred that one day, at one precise moment, you fell. it would have been quick and sudden and rather frightening.

that's not exactly how spencer felt as he began feeling his love for you.

there were a series of moments that led up to him realizing what had happened and how he felt. over the course of around 11 months after you joined the bureau, his heart had grown fond of you. although it was more than a fondness. it was as though his heart was attracted to your presence as if you had been a magnet. as though you were a siren calling out to him as a sailor and he couldn't resist the beautiful voice that was yours. but when he found you, his ship wasn't crashed along a rocky coastline. it was safely guided to shore by your voice. you had welcomed him home.

the moments that led him to realize his feelings would seem obsolete to any onlooker. they were menial tasks, on pointless days, things that weren't important. but that's the things about you. you made the simple things seem like they were the entire world.

it had been yet another paperwork day at the office. you had all sat down at your desks and began working quickly, but carefully, on the stack of case files that threatened your minds.

soon enough it was time for you all to finally return home to rest, except there were other plans to be made by none other than penelope garcia as the two of you were so close to the elevator with derek.

"not so fast, derek morgan," she quickly chased after him as fast as her heels would allow before he made it to the elevator.

"what is it, babygirl?" he sighed as he turned to greet her.

"we're going out tonight. bar. you and me and the rest of the team," she practically demanded as she turned to see the rest of the team make their way over to you. "great! perfect timing!" she clapped her hands together in celebration.

"hey, hey," rossi intervened. "what're you cheering for?"

"we're all going out to the bar since we haven't spent time together since..." she checked her watch as if it told her the timing for how long it had been. "a really long time," she concluded.

"i have to relieve jack's babysitter," hotch informed, giving him the perfect out. "next time?"

"ugh, FINE!" penny huffed as her eyes turned to rossi.

"kid, i'd love to. but krystall and i haven't had much alone time with the cases we've had recently," he told her, a rather sad tone.

"so," she turned to jj, "kids and will?"

"i'm sorry, pen," she placed her hand on her shoulder comfortingly. "we'll have to plan a girls' night."

"alright, but tell henry i said hello!" she requested with a smile.
