he was gone for a little over three weeks. 23 days, without him there. you were used to spencer being near you and were only used to him being gone for maybe five days at a time. but he was gone for 23 days - almost a whole month without him.

as he walked through the doors of your shared apartment, he placed his bag down and not even a second later, you were on him. it wasn't suffocating, or annoying to him, either. he missed you more than his words could express. he missed holding you in his arms and waking up with your hair in his face. he missed you taking care of him and making sure he ate and drank something other than coffee and tea all day. he just missed you.

you were a naturally clingy person - and that was the farthest from a bad thing as it could be. spencer enjoyed being wanted, needed so badly, especially by someone like you. you were enchanting. not to everyone, but to him. you weren't one that everyone would trip over, but to spencer you were the most beautiful and unique thing there was. he always wanted to make sure you knew that, even in your friendship with him.

so as your arms wrapped around his neck, his around you waist, you each breathed in the other's presence. you were finally in his arms, and he couldn't have been more content in that very moment.

phone calls were never suffice for the two of you. you needed your dom with you to take care of you in a way that you were never able to. he needed his precious sub to remember his touch, he needed the comfort that you provided. both of you needed the other.

"i missed you so much, my love," spencer whispered into your ear as his hand cupped the back of your head, tangling in your hair. "i'm sorry it took so long."

"i'm glad you're back," you nuzzled your face further into his neck. "i hope you're never gone that long again. i missed annoying you 24/7."

"you could never annoy me," he assured you.

there had been previous lovers you'd had that would always criticize the way you loved. you were a passionate lover who only wanted the other to know that just as much. in the way you would always be touching one of their limbs, it sent the message that you couldn't get enough. with every baked good, it told them that you'd do anything for them. some people aren't able to comprehend that kind of love, even spencer had trouble sometimes with realizing how much you loved him. everyone took you for granted.

but spencer knew to cherish every single touch and action you did to and for him. he tried his best to help you realize how much he loved you in return, but one can only demonstrate there love so much before they run out of ways to put it on display.

"i love you," you whispered to the man that stood in front of you.

"and i, you," he replied.

"you have to say it!" you urged him with a giggle as you pulled back from his embrace. "i haven't heard you say it in person for over three weeks! i need to hear you say it... please?"

"angel," he smiled as he moved a strand of hair behind your ear. "you know i do, don't you?"

"of course, i know that," you sighed as he let his hand cup your cheek. "but hearing you say it never hurts?" you placed your hand atop his and rested your head in his hold.
