Baobei - baby
Sophia - your daughter's name

"Kris!" You called out to your husband. He made a low growling sound in his sleep and turning around, ignoring you.
"Kris!" You repeated, beginning to become arrogant at him brushing you off.
He finally stirred and sat up, rubbing his eyes. At the sight of your angry face, he gulped.
"B-Baobei?" he smiled meekly.
"Kris I've been calling you for the past ten minutes. Will you get your lazy ass up?!"
He quickly jumped up out of the bed and wrapped his long arms around you, attempting to console you.
"What's wrong, baobei?" he asked.
You unravelled him from you and shoved a list into his arms, startling him.
"I'm going to visit my mother, I need you to look after Sophia for today. Can you do that?"
A big grin formed on his face. "Alright! Baby bonding! Of course!"
You smiled brightly. "Good! Make sure she gets her nap at exactly 3pm otherwise she's going to be very sleepy."
"Yes ma'am!"
"And also, don't feed her too many treats and sweets!"
He saluted playfully before shooing you off. "I've got it all under control. Go have fun with your mum!"
You nodded and kissed him sweetly on the lips before leaving. He began to push you towards the front door.
"Oh! Make sure she doesn't watch television for more than an hour and also make sure she eats her dinner properly without leaving any vegetables-" was the last thing Kris heard before shutting the door.
"Yeah, yeah! So much nagging..."

After Kris had finished washing up, he went to greet his princess good morning. He entered her castle-themed room, smiling at the memory of him painting it whilst you was pregnant. His masterpiece consisted of a castle that looked more of a sack, a dodgy looking stick princess and a rhino he called 'magical horses'.
"Good morning honey-" He sung, but stopped abruptly when he noticed the absence of his daughter.
"Sophia? Where are you?" he asked, stepping into the room. Plastic barbies sat on the play table and the bed was occupied by many teddies. There was a shuffle behind him and a smirk played on Kris's face.
"I wonder where she is...?" Kris muttered loudly.
"Boo!" a tiny voice squeaked and Kris pretended to be scared, jumping backwards and clutching his heart in distress.
"You scared me! I thought you completely disappeared!" Kris scolded in a teasing manner.
"I was hiding daddy! Am I good?" Sophia gushed.
"Yes, but since you scared me...I'll get the tickle monster to get you back!" Kris said, grabbing her and tickling her sides.
She squealed in laughter, squirming and kicking around defensively.
After they finished playing, Kris adjusted her tiara and held her tiny hands in his big ones.
"Let's eat breakfast, okay?"
She nodded.

Kris scrunched his face in confusion as he read the checklist you had given him. How was he supposed to make soft breakfast? Anyways, she's growing! Not a baby! She needs to develop strong teeth!
Ignoring what you had told him, he grabbed the packet of bacon from the fridge and threw it on the pan, the sizzling sensation causing Sophia to walk up to him, going on her tip-toes to see the cooking strips.
"What's that, daddy?" she asked innocently.
"It's bacon!"
Her face showed horror. "You're cooking uncle Baekhyun?! Taeyeon unnie is going to be sad!" she frowned.
Kris laughed full heartedly. "No sweetie, it's bacon! B-a-c-o-n! It's made of pig."
Her mouth formed an 'o'. "Is it yummy?"
He nodded. "Absolutely. I can't believe mum never let you eat this!"
He cracked an egg and told her not go too near the pans.

After all the cooking, breakfast was finally served. Sunny-side up eggs, bacon, sausages and baked beans.
"Daddy...?" Sophia asked after eating five strips of bacon.
"Yes princess?"
"My tummy hurts...I think I'm going to-"
A rainbow of grossness and bacon flew out of her mouth and Kris stood up to avoid getting it on his shirt.
"S-Sophia! Are you sick? What's wrong? Are you ill??"
Soft tears blubbered down her baby cheeks. "I want mummy!" she cried. "Mummy!"
"Mummy's going to be back later, okay? For now, urm...do you want your teddies?"
No response but wails.
"I'll get you your teddies!"
He quickly returned with a handful of bears but she slapped them away. "Mummy!" she cried. Her cried were turning into wails and screams now. It had been twenty minutes and Kris was starting to become irritated. Is this how you felt every time she cried? If so, how did you handle it? A slamming on the door was heard.
Shit. Kris cursed mentally.
"Shhh! Honey! Do you want ice-cream??"
Her wails turned to whimpers and he smiled at her gloriously. She nodded.
He opened the freezer, only to find no ice-cream. His face turned to stone and he pinched the bridge of his nose, the singing of Sophia in the background.
"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!" she sang cutely, banging the metal spoon on the table. "Ice cream! Ice cream!"
He took a deep breath in. "Sweetie...?"
She gave him an enthusiastic look. "Ice cream?!"
He gulped. "Do you want to go out?"
Her face fell. "But....ice cream?"
"We can get some outside!"
Her face turned to a wide grin and she nodded and jumped off the chair. He breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Thank god..." He sighed.

"Daddy?"
"Yes?"
"Can I go play on the swings?"
He nodded tiredly. At least this would give him some time to relax. "Sure. Take your time."
She skipped off happily, waving to a friend who was also on the swings. He took a seat on the bench in the playground, putting the small tin of ice cream beside him on the floor. If this melts....
He didn't want to think about anything right now. He shut his eyes for a bit of rest, only for them to snap back open at the sound of a familiar cry.
"Sophia!" he cried.
He rushed towards her, who was sitting on the block Tarmac floor, crying her eyes out. Her friend stood there, unsure what to do.
"She fell off!" she said, pointing to the swing.
He picked Sophia up, examining her knee.
"It's just a cut, just a cut!"
"I wanna go home!" She pouted.
"Okay, let's go home..."

He flopped onto the couch as soon as they reached home.
"Daddy can I have my ice cream now?" Sophia asked.
He face palmed. The ice cream! He completely forgot about it when he went to rescue her.
"Urm...how about a movie?"
"But I want ice cream...."
He could hear her begin to sniffle.
"Okay! Movie and ice cream! If I put the movie on and get the ice cream, you be good and watch the movie, okay?"
She nodded. "Be quick! Can we watched Disney?"
"Yeah! Of course! Be good..."
He put Tangled on Netflix in a rush before quietly sneaking out to buy the goddamn ice cream again.

Later on that night, you returned holding bags of shopping.
"I'm home!" you called out to no response. "Kris? Sophia?"
Walking in, you entered the dark living room, illuminated by the rolling credits of a movie. Walking around the couch, a heartwarming smile formed on your gracious lips. The two people you loved most were snuggled up together on the couch, Kris's arms protectively wrapping Sophia's small frame. It was so perfectly cute! Kris's eyes opened and he immediately sat up when he saw you.
"Hey baobei! How did your day go with your mum?"
"Good. You done well taking care of Sophia," you smiled, kissing Kris on the cheek. His head fell onto your chest. "Let's not have another child, it's really tiring..."
You laughed.
You thought they were the most perfect people in the world until you saw the pool of sick on the kitchen table.
"KRISSS!!!!!" You screeched.
