Carlos, Juan, and Shaddai entered the nearest city, Flaming pond, in the state of Blistering waters, a place well known for its food and thermal waters. The main street was lightened by the business signs and building lights, it was an energetic scene.

"There, let's stop and eat in that place," said Shaddai with confidence in his eyes.

"A buffet? There are a lot of places, we can go somewhere else," Juan said.

"This place is known for its food you know? we should try a local food truck," Carlos suggested.

"I am sorry, I didn't know I was surrounded by cowards. All you can eat, it's challenging us," Shaddai replied excitedly.

"It's not like that is not a challenge," Juan added.

"All buffets are challenges and I won't back down," said a hungry Shaddai. They parked the truck in front of the restaurant and stretched before entering the building.

"What do you think about making this our next duel Carlos?" Shaddai said.

"First of all it is my turn to choose the challenge, second I am not crazy to challenge you in a food competition," Carlos replied.

"I'll challenge you Shaddai, I am so hungry that I could eat a cow," said Juan.

"Just one?" Shaddai asked.

"Suit yourself," Carlos added and the group entered the restaurant. Carlos took a small plate and a cup of coffee and sat at one of the tables. After a while Juan arrived with a big plate full of food and a big glass of lemonade, just after Juan sat at the table Shaddai arrived with a whole cake, Juan was impressed, Shaddai then devoured half of the cake in just one bite. Juan's face turned white, at that moment he knew there was no chance of winning.

"Told you," Carlos said. The three of them kept eating and having a nice conversation, sharing some jokes, some laughs, Shaddao looked like a balloon after eating half the food in the restaurant. The owner wasn't pleased, Juan was genuinely enjoying himself for the first time in years. They left the buffet.

"Please never come back!" shouted the owner.

"It was a good idea that we stopped here instead of a food truck we could have ruined a small business," Juan said.

"Or we could give them the night of their business year," Carlos added, Juan entered the truck and Shaddai climbed to the trunk of the truck and laid down since he could barely fit in the front. Juan drove searching for a hotel, Carlos chose this time.

They entered the hotel and Carlos stopped at the lobby since he was the one with the proper documents, they got a big room.

"I will sleep now, I am really tired, this is just the second day I've been using the suit and after using it for the whole day I am quite exhausted," stated Carlos.

"Quite exhausted," Juan said laughing and mocking Carlos' vocabulary but they all went to sleep, however, Juan was having some troubles and after rolling in the bed for a while, he got out of bed and noticed that Shaddai wasn't in the room.

Juan exited the room and went to the pool area of the hotel even though it was supposed to be closed and Shaddai was there.

"Having troubles sleeping?" Juan asked.

"I suffer from insomnia so I am always having troubles sleeping."

"Well I wasn't able to sleep either," Juan said and noticed that Shaddai wasn't smiling as usual. "Are you ok?" Juan asked.

"Yes, I am just tired, like Carlos I used my singularity too much today," Shaddai explained.

"You did defeat a whole cartel point and beat those cops," Juan added.

"No, that was a piece of cake, I often use my singularity on myself, but people don't notice," Shaddai explained.

"I see that's why you are always so annoying, I mean happy," Juan said but Shaddai remained quiet. "It was just a joke I was trying to lighten the mood."

"I know, thanks for caring," said Shaddai but he seemed like a completely different person.

"Hey, why do you want to go to Tequila lagoon?" Juan asked.

"I am searching for a friend, she has information I need before my expedition to the old continent, well the real reason is that I want her to join me, she is strong," Shaddai answered.

"And why do you want to go to the old continent," Juan asked.

"Is the continent with the oldest history, the longest war is still being fought in that place and the central base of the universal church is there, what I am trying to say is that there is a reason to all that, I want to find the origins and truths about singularities," Shaddai answered leaving Juan speechless. "My theory is that singularities and the religions that worship the living god are somehow connected," Shaddai added.

"I believe that as well," Juan replied, impressing Shaddai.

"How so?"

"It's not a secret that the cartel and the government of this country are allies, you were right on suspecting them, but what a lot of people don't know is that the universal church is involved as well," Juan answered, Shaddai was astonished.

"How much do you know about this?" Shaddai questioned.

"Not much, it seems like the government is the bridge between the cartel and the church, supposedly they have these meetings and they have a super-secret ritual called "the blessing" in those meetings, that's why nobody dares to leave the cartel, they won't risk exposing those secrets, that's why I am a target now," Juan explained with a sad tone in his voice.

"I see, thanks for the information, it is really helpful."

"I thought going after the cartel was dangerous but your goal might uncover the secrets of the united nations and the universal church, you might piss the strongest people on the planet," Juan added.

"Well I am willing to bet my life on this adventure," said Shaddai with a sincere smile.

"Ok, it is late, and I have to take you to your friend, let's try to get some rest," Juan said.
