She could feel the painkillers had started to take some effect as her level of pain became more bearable and so as soon as Michael had stepped out she was up on her feet.

Old habits were hard to break and she was not going to be able to stay in an unfamiliar place without having some safety measures in place. As fast as she was able to, she searched through the room, finding it bare, and made her way to the bathroom in hopes of finding any weapon she could keep near her for safety.

"Jackpot" she muttered under her breath at the extensive medical kit sitting on the sink counter. She quickly went through the kit and found the scalpel that she put to the side along with medical tape she could use as a makeshift holder for the scalpel on her thigh. Having a plan in place, she finally took in her reflection in the mirror and flinched.

Sighing she rummaged through the kit again and found the waterproof patch she could secure around her stitches. She stared at it for a few minutes, internally debating whether or not she should, and finally moved to lock the door behind her and tore off the ridiculous hospital gown.

Moving as swiftly as she could without moving her torso too much, she secured her stitches with the waterproof patch and moved into the shower. She could feel her energy draining but knew that she would feel a lot better after a shower.

She wrapped her hair in a towel and grabbed another to wrap herself in before moving to the sink to strap the scalpel to her leg with the tape before she lost all of her energy. Scalpel in place, she finally took a deep breath leaning against the wall. She was drained and the bathroom had started to spin around her.

She checked her reflection again, securing the towel more and making sure the scalpel wasn't visible. As she reached for the lock she saw the quiet movement of it being unlocked and the knob turning. Self-preservation kicked in as she moved behind the door so that she could catch whoever was opening the door by surprise as she pulled the scalpel out ready to attack.

The door was opened ever so slowly and she felt a wave of energy from the adrenaline take over. A man slowly moved into the bathroom holding a syringe in one hand with a gun in the other. Annabelle slammed the bathroom door into his arm making him drop the gun while slashing the arm that had the syringe at the same time as lunging for the gun herself.

She had the gun pointed at his head before he even realized what had happened and she retightened the towel with the other arm as she motioned to him to back out of the restroom.

"Any sudden moves and you're dead." She said with her deadliest glare as she again motioned to him to back up with the gun.

"Back up, let's go" she hissed as she followed him back into the room.

Several men rushed into the room and she kept her eyes on the man, ignoring the men.

"Anyone moves and I shoot them." She said without taking her eyes off him.

"What's going on?" Michael asked as he moved past his security at the door taking in the room. The 3 guards he had placed outside her room stood just inside the room, while the fourth stood holding a bleeding arm at gunpoint. Annabelle's wet hair hung disheveled around her, and she held a towel secured around her body with one arm and the gun with the other.

Without a second thought, Michael started moving towards her when she turned the gun towards him, leading all three of his men to raise their weapons.

"Not another move, No one moves until this one tells me who sent him," She said motioning to the man with a bleeding arm.

Michael turned to his men in anger,
