The knock at the door sent Annabelle lunging for the gun despite being barely awake. Securing the gun in her hands under the blanket, she straightened slowly to avoid moving her middle,
"Come in" she called gripping the gun tighter
"I'm here to check on your stitches." said a familiar voice as a young man dressed in slacks and a white coat stepped in.

Annabelle looked closer noting no visible bulges where he may have a gun and then finally met his eyes recognizing the doctor she had seen a few times working on some of the boys with Xavier.

"Doc?" She asked in question remembering Michael mentioning that he would call the Doc in the morning.

"Dr. Bianchi, but you can call me Angelo since I am currently just a surgical resident. However, not to be alarmed, I am more than capable of checking on the stitches for you. Doc would be the official Doc for the family but it would be a bit before he could come in so my father convinced Uncle Vitelli to let me get the stitches fixed instead of waiting." He explained as he moved into the room approaching the bed.

Annabelle raised herself straighter taking in his words as she slowly relaxed enough to lift the gun out from under the blanket and slowly set it back on the nightstand causing him to raise his brows,

"Ah, I see the family resemblance now." He muttered as he pulled on some gloves.

"Uncle Vitelli?" Annabelle asked in confusion trying to make the connection to which he smiled.

"Not biologically but I grew up calling him Uncle Vitelli since he was always around or rather my father was always by his side. You've met him I believe, Luciano Bianchi. Do you mind if I take a look at the stitches for you?"  He asked as he came right up to her bed.

Annabelle nodded in distraction laying back down slowly,

"I've seen you help some of the boys on the streets?" She acknowledged almost as a question,

Angelo nodded as he slowly lifted the wrapping left by Michael and examined the wound.

"I help out where I can, usually plenty for me to stitch with the boys that work with Xavier and the lot here. Although, I must admit that none have been as breathtaking as you "  He said giving her a charming smile as he stepped back to place his bag next to her and pull out some glue.

"Well, I think you should be ok without replacement stitches for now. You only tore a couple and the steri-strips are holding it great. I would prefer giving your skin a chance to heal on its own rather than going in to add more so soon. I can use some glue to reinforce the steri-strips to be on the safe side but if you particularly prefer the stitches I can do that instead."

"Glue would be fine," Annabelle said quickly happy to avoid the needle.

Thankfully Angelo worked in silence quickly and was pulling his gloves off in no time.

"Make sure to get some time to be up and around the room a few times in the day but keep movement around the wound minimal, I think you should make a quick recovery though." He said with a smile as he stepped back.

"So I can get out of this bed?" She confirmed in relief

"Just to walk a bit with support but then you go right back."

She was pushing out of the bed as soon as he finished speaking and just as she tried standing the room toppled around her as she became dizzy. Angelo lunged forward to pull her straight wrapping his arms around her being careful to avoid her wound.

As she pushed against his shoulder to try to straighten herself she heard the click of the bathroom door and she turned to see Christopher, shirtless with just his dress slacks and a towel in a hand.

"Good Morning mia caro" He said as he casually moved across the room and gently pulled her into his arms from Angelos right before leaning down to deeply kiss her. Angelo naturally stepped back and cleared his throat uncomfortably.

Christopher smiled against her lips before pulling away from a stunned Annabelle to finally acknowledge Angelo.

"Thank you for taking a look at her stitches."

Annabelle uncomfortably straightened and attempted to take a step out of Christopher's arms, to which he only stepped closer wrapping his arms tighter around her with a smile that turned cold as it turned to Angelo.

"No problem, I've got to get to the hospital now so I'll see you tomorrow. It was lovely to meet you,  Annabelle." Angelo said as he turned to the door.

Annabelle nodded in reply staying quiet until he was out of the room.

"What was that?" She hissed as she turned to Christopher.

Christopher shrugged as he loosened his hold on her helping her to walk towards the bathroom.

"I was just saying Good Morning to my breathtaking wife."
