To Tatooine We Go

Din's POV

"That's my line."

If there was anything I hated more than droids, it would be d class bounty hunters trying to use my moves. Especially that one. Varina looked at me as the power on the razor crest went out.

"I would say that was very impressive, But I feel like that would be redundant. You know how good you are. "

I turned the emergency power on as I turned to answer her.

"it's nice to have someone remind me every now and again, so I welcome the compliments, princess."

I smirked under the helmet. In fact I would love that. Varina laughed at me.

" Well, that was very impressive and dare I say the best thing I've ever seen."

I looked at her and quietly laughed.

" Really. well then, I have to keep impressing you. I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve."

Varina shook her head.

"Alright hot shot, just get us to safety and you can work on further impressing me."

"Whatever you say Varina. "

I looked on my maps. And I saw a very familiar planet.

"How would you like to go to Tatooine? It's pretty close and we need repairs anyway"

Varina perked up

"Are you kidding? yes I would love that, I have never seen sand before!"

"Alright then, Tatooine it is."

Varina looked so excited it made me feel excited too. even though I have been to the planet many times, something about her innocence just made it infectious. when we landed, I laid down the ground rules.

"now this planet is a little bit dangerous. a lot of unwanted characters. use your fake name for now and stay by my side at all times, okay?"

"Absolutely, your the boss."

I smiled.

"Okay lets go."

We got off the ship and I immediately saw a droid trying to work on her. I took out my blaster and shot it.

"hey! you break it you pay for it! help doesn't come easy in these parts. the names Peli, what can I do for you?"

" I need the ship repaired as soon as possible, no droids and no questions."

Peli looked at me and then at Varina.

"alright but its gonna take some time without any droid help, it'll cost ya though,"

"I'll get you your money-"

"Actually, I got it, how much do you need?" Varina asked Peli and she raised an eyebrow.

"700 would be in order."

Varina tossed over 700 credits. Peli whistled.

"I'll get working on it, no questions asked."

" Thank you Peli, the Mandalorian and I appreciate it." Varina started to walk away

"Man you sure are lucky to have her as your wife eh?"

I looked at her when she said wife. I wanted to correct her but she walked away before I could say anything. that, or I didnt want to correct it.

With Varina's credits she had left over we didnt need to look for any work. The kid had woken up and peli was enamored by him, So I asked Peli to keep the Kid while I took Varina to see the sand dunes. I bought a speeder and I took her out to a nice area outside of Mos Eisley to see the setting suns.

Varina and I stopped and started to look around the area. Varina looked awe inspired as she touched the sand.

"man, it's just like how I Imagined it. but I have to say I like Oranian snow better."

"Not a lot of people are fans of sand."

We laughed about that for a while then we quieted down. Varina looked at me.

"Why did you shoot peli's droid back there?"

I looked at her

" I just, don't like droids. never have really."

"is it because of..."

I frowned under my helmet.

"Mainly yes but, I just don't think droids are all that great." Varina shook her head in understanding.

"Have you ever met one you did like?"

"No. They are all the same to me, they are just machines."

Varina looked down. I hoped that she understood my reasoning. and then I thought about it. she may have had a lot of droids that she spent time with and that struck a nerve. I felt bad but I didn't want the conversation to go on so this time I asked her a question.

" Do you know a lot about The species on Tatooine?"

I asked Varina

"Not much, I know that Jawas are on Tatooine and another group of people called Tuscan Raiders but there wasn't much on them. General Ran used to say that they were notorious for killing and could not be trusted."

"Well they have killed people, but the other part isn't necessarily true. They are the original species of this planet and they are actually very nice once you learn there language and get to know there customs. "

I stopped.

"Would you like to meet them?"

Varina hesitated

"Will it be safe? I don't know their language."

" I know it , we will be okay. I think it might be a good experience for you."

Varina smiled

"Okay! lead the way Din."
