Third person POV

The one thing that everyone in the cantina agreed on unanimously, is their hatred for the Mandalorian. Not that anyone would blame them, he was too good at his job for his own good. he had just finished acquiring the most sought after asset in the entire galaxy and he acted as if he didn't care.

In reality he did care. He actually cared a little too much. The little green baby had somehow made him feel more things than he did, well, since he had sworn the creed. It actually made him feel human for once. but he had to turn the child in, he couldn't break the Guild Code.

After getting the Beskar forged into new armor he decided to go back to Greef for his next job, he needed a distraction. Something far away so he didn't do anything stupid. Greef Karga was sitting in his usual booth, drinking his usual drink, and being the same old man that Din remembers meeting after joining the guild.

"Mando!!! there you are, how is my most valuable business partner."

The Mandalorian stayed silent. He wasn't one for small talk, especially when he had all of that guilt floating in his mind.

" Well you just made me rich! I would tell you to take a break and visit the Twilek healing baths. but... I know that's not really your style, so I have another job for you, a high paying job. Not as much as the Beskar but-"

The Mandalorian cut him off

"What's the target?"

"well it's not a traditional target, it's- well I'll just show you"

With that Greef had put on the table a gold tablet with a hologram of a girl, no- wait, she looked like royalty. The first thing he noticed was her smile, it was warm and comforting, he hadn't seen a smile like that in a long time. Her brown hair and curls gracefully fell past her shoulders. Her eyes, even though they were a common brown, there was something holding him there, keeping his eyes on her gaze. Something hit him but he couldn't figure out what. She felt familiar, as if he had known her his whole life.

" Beautiful isn't she Mando, I can see you staring."

The Mandalorian wouldn't give him the satisfaction of being caught.

"what did she do?"

Greef smirked

"Nothing, apparently she went on an... unsponsored vacation and her father needs her back, its urgent."

The Mandalorian started to get up.

"Give it to someone else, I'm not a taxi service and I'm not a body guard, especially for spoiled brats"

The Mandalorian knew that was harsh but he felt like he needed to give himself the excuse not to go searching for the girl. The way he felt just by looking at her, he knew she was dangerous and he wasn't going to let himself get caught up in... emotions.

"The job was specifically given to you, no one else can have it, under her father's orders and he's willing to pay for it."

The Mandalorian stopped.

"How much are we talking."

"ten million credits plus anything else you desired, he just wants her home safe. "

Ten million credits, that was insane. The Mandalorian thought, plus anything he desired, his thoughts immediately went to the girl, but he pushed them away. Then he had a thought, he could get asylum on the planet, maybe work privately for the king, maybe he could break the guild code and...

" What do you say Mando, all you need to do is get the princess safe and back home, no freezing in carbonite though, he doesn't want a scratch on her."

Mando looked at him then back at the tablet, he picked it up.

" This is just for me? direct commission?"

"Direct commission."

"Fine, how much time do I have?"

" As long as you bring her home safe, as much time as you need. They did want you to stop at Orania first, they had some information that may be useful to you."

" I'll leave now then."

"Safe travels Mando, may the girl give you a handsome reward."

With that, the Mandalorian left the cantina. He kept walking through the village, everyone giving him looks. it was always the same. The panic looks, the glares. It was never different, he was either feared or hated. Never liked or held in high regard.

In the past he relished in being feared, it gave him the strength to feel like he was invincible. that no one could touch him. But now it wasn't as great, in reality he had grown tired of it. He wanted people to understand him and actually see him for who he truly was. Human. The memories of his family came to mind. The strength of his father, the love from his mother. Memories that every passing sun would grow dimmer and dimmer in his memory. It was harder and harder to remember their voices.

As he came back to his beloved Razor crest , he couldn't help but feel empty as he looked around. In reality he didn't have a lot of personal belongings, none actually. But what he did have, he cherished. This tin can was his home, even as old as she was, she had gotten him out of a lot of bad situations. he looked at the tablet. The girls face illuminated again as he looked at her. Her name printed under her image.

'Varina' the Mandalorian thought.

But as he did he looked at the little silver ball that was a part of his ship. He thought about the little green baby. And then he looked back at Varina's face. He had the same feeling looking at Varina as he did when he met the child. He felt like a person. The child didn't fear him, he actually looked at him as if he was normal, not something to be afraid of, he even saved him from the mud horn. Mando knew what he had to do, he powered down the ship and went for the kid. He knew there would be consequences but he didn't care.

He would deal with the remnants of his actions tomorrow. Right now he needed to save the kid and then find the girl. After all, The commission to find her was only for the Mandalorian...
