"Ah-...AHHH! Is this me?" She burst, amazed as she frantically checked her figure in front of the mirror, though she isn't sure if it was hers.
She found herself surrounded by mirrors in a room that looked like a typical dressing room from the movies she had seen.
"Shit! I look so pretty," she mindlessly uttered as she examined herself in awe and confusion. Knowing her former appearance, her new look was incomparably more attractive and good-looking. She looked younger and sexier.
While she was too occupied worshipping her new look, she suddenly heard a faint robotic voice. It was so thin she was almost sure it came from a kid. She looked around.
"Hello?"
"W-Where are you?"
"I'm in your head."
"Oh." She nodded as soon as she realized it didn't have a physical body. "What's your name?"
"You can call me Guide."
"Guide... Guide-sama then." She giggled as she recalled her anime days. "Ha, cute."
The voice did not respond.
"Anyways, what about me? Who am I?"
"You are Yanarym. A 25-year-old rookie," the voice briefly explained in a thin, monotonous voice.
"A 25-year-old rookie?" She became silent for a second, trying to fully digest her current situation.
Guide-sama told her that she died from her first life and was shortly relocated to a different world. Back there, she was a 28-year-old lady—a normal-looking lady with lots of part-time jobs. Aside from working, all she ever did was waste her time indulging in things like fiction stories. She even remembered her past self reading a web novel right before she died.
"Guide, can you read my mind?" She asked, preparing her thoughts.
Guide-sama: "Yes."
"So, am I right?"
Guide-sama: "Not entirely, you are just a minor character."
"Wait, what?" She asked in confusion, disrupting her own growing fantasies. "I'm not the main character?"
Guide-sama: "Yes, you are a minor character."
She sighed in disbelief. She gloomily took a seat and placed her hands on top of the dressing table full of cosmetics beside her.
She became a character in a book wherein the whole storyline was mainly about a rising star named Alyana and a highly respected CEO in the entertainment industry.
She's not Alyana the Heroine but only Yanarym the minor?
"Guide, please enlighten me. What am I even doing here?"
Guide-sama: "Starting today, you will fulfill the wishes of your new bodies. Presently, you are one of the characters who want to make her dream come true."
"Woah. So, I'm like a fairy godmother."
Guide-sama: "You can call yourself whatever you want. I'll send you the information." Yanarym nodded.
"You know, you're like a call center agent." She commented jokingly, which was then returned with a short pause from the robot voice.
Guide-sama: "I am a divine being, Yanarym. I am not a human."
"An angel?" She asked again curiously.
Guide-sama: "No. A divine being."
"A God?"
Guide-sama: "No. A divine-being."
"Alright. A divine being, if that's what you said..." She surrendered, slightly holding back her laughter and hoping she could see its face. It's probably pouting.
Guide-sama: "But please do not call me a divine being. Guide is fine."
Instead of giving a response, Yanarym tried to absorb all the details Guide-sama gave her.
The original owner of her body has a minor role in the story. Not a protagonist nor the opposite one, but only a useless extra in the story. It has been five years since she debuted in the entertainment industry but still an unknown celebrity.
She has already passed from being a rookie. Only her consistent extra and minor roles in projects had made her maintain her poor status. But this was not the main dilemma of the original—it was her non-existent money.
"Wow, we're both the same," she said. "I died broke and now, I'm alive again but still no money."
In the story, she was an unimportant actress. The talent fee she earned was less than enough. Still, the original chose to continue her acting job because that's all she only knew she was good at.
Maybe that's why she has surprisingly good looks, Yanarym thought.
The Original's sister, Yarisa, her only family, was left stuck in the hospital with the help of a machine for her to live. Since the original was a character with a minor role, her story will soon end in a car accident. In the end, she won't be able to save her sister, which was the only thing she wished would come true. She wanted to send her sister abroad and have her undergo surgery from a well-known doctor because she believed it would bring her sister back.
"Yanarym, are you alright?" Guide-sama asked with its regular robotic voice. It may be able to read her mind but not her feelings.
"Oh, yes." She answered attentively, interrupting her thoughts. "I was just thinking how will I earn that big amount of money."
Guide-sama did not respond.
Its only mission was to find the perfect world for Yanarym. She died from a life without ever feeling sad or happy. She didn't believe in the essence of love, as well as in building connections with other people. She was like a body with no soul nor emotions.
Guide-sama: "Yanarym, you are very disconnected. You need to connect, no matter how long it takes. Even if we would have to travel to a hundred worlds, I'll fulfill your wishes."
"Sorry, but what do you mean?" Asked Yanarym. Guide went silent, leaving Yanarym in a pool of confusion. What did it mean by her wish?
"What are you doing here? GET OUT!" She was taken aback when a young man the same as her character's age entered the dressing room before slamming the door shut. She raised her eyebrow at his lack of manners.
He was wearing a white button-up shirt, slightly emphasizing his sexy physique, lean and not too muscular. He's tall as a typical supermodel. He was fair-skinned and looked perfectly groomed. Though he has black-tinted shades covering his eyes, it wasn't hard for her to see his beauty, especially his high-bridged nose and kissable red lips.
