𝙿𝙸𝙿𝙴𝚁, 𝙻𝙴𝙾 and Jason stood in back of the chariot, while Butch, handled the reins and Annabeth, adjusted a bronze navigation device.
Lorna rode on a seperate pegasi. She felt safer being on Porkpie. She knew that Porkpie was loyal to her, Lorna had ridden on her countless of times.
They rose over the Grand Canyon and headed east, icy wind slapping Lorna in the face. Behind them, more storm clouds were gathering. The chariot lurched and bumped.
In the midst of their trip, lightning flashed. The chariot shuddered, and Lorna turned back to help her friends.
"The left wheel's on fire!" She yelled although she doubted they could hear her over the roaring wind.
White flames lapping up the side of the chariot. Lorna tried to douse it with water but the wind made the flames bigger. The wind roared. Lorna glanced behind them and saw dark shapes forming in the clouds, more horse shaped storm spirits spiraling toward the chariot.
Lorna got Butch's attention and gestured forward. Butch nodded in response.
Butch flicked the reins and Lorna squeezed her calves. The pegasi put on a burst of speed, and everything blurred. When her vision came back to normal, she was in a totally different place.
The wheels of the chariot came off and it dropped out of the sky. The pegasi labored to hold the chariot in a flight pattern, but they seemed exhausted from their burst of speed, and bearing the chariot and the weight of five people was just too much.
"The lake!" Lorna yelled. "Aim for the lake!"
Lorna leaped off Porkpie, diving into the lake. She hooked her arm with Annabeth and Jason, who looked disorientated, and summoned for the water to give them a burst speed.
They got onto shore. Lorna was completely dry but Annabeth, Jason and Leo were freezing. Campers came forward with blankets. Nearby, Butch stood in the lake, cutting the wrecked harnesses off the pegasi. Fortunately, the pegasi were okay, but they were flapping their wings and splashing water everywhere.
Somebody took Piper by the arms and helped her stand. Campers ran up with a big bronze leaf blower-looking things and blasted Piper with hot air; and in about two seconds her clothes were dry.
A second later the wreckage of the chariot was tossed from the lake and landed nearby with a wet crunch.
"Lorna!" Will pushed through the crowd. "What- did you have to destroy my chariot?"
"Yes," Lorna said, "because I hate you and I want your life to be miserable." Lorna rolled her eyes. "What did you think, Will? That I did this on purpose?"
Will stuck his tongue out at her and Lorna did the same.
"Will, I'm sorry," Annabeth sighed. "I'll get it fixed, I promise. "
"It looks beyond repair to me," Lorna stated.
Will sized up Piper, Leo, and Jason. "These are the ones? Way older than thirteen. Why haven't they been claimed already?"
"Claimed?" Leo asked.
Before they could explain, Will said, "Any sign of Percy?"
"No," Annabeth admitted.
The campers muttered. Drew stepped forward- tall, Asian, dark hair in ringlets, plenty of jewelry, and perfect makeup. Somehow she managed to make jeans and an orange T-shirt look glamorous. She glanced at Leo, fixed her eyes on Jason like he might be worthy of her attention, then curled her lip at Piper as if she were a week-old burrito that had just been pulled out of a Dumpster.
