Chapter 16: Good News
Rachel entered the office room and set the cup on Ryker's table.
"Here's the coffee. No sugar." She said politely as she glanced at Ryker to see his reaction when she just said something so politely towards Ryker which was something she never done before unless in front of the clients.
But, she immediately frowned when she saw no change on Ryker's face, he didn't even look at her. He just stared at his phone, didn't move, didn't talk. Just breathed and blinked. Lifting an eyebrow, she waved her hands in front of Ryker's face but she got nothing in response so she did the thing that could only woke Ryker up from his daydream, she slammed the desk hard until the glass desk almost broke, startling Ryker. Ryker looked at her with a frown.
"What is wrong with you?!" he asked, obviously irritated from being interrupted so suddenly.
"What is wrong with me? What is wrong with me? No, mister, what's wrong with you?" Rachel replied, folding her hands over her chest, acting all majestic like she always did because it was the predominate traits of Pelliandric's family.
Ryker glanced at her, silence, before averting his eyes away from her.
"Nothing." Was all he saying.
Rachel narrowed her eyes at Ryker, totally not buying a thing that he'd said.
"Don't lie, Ryker. You have that constipated with tractor-sized shit expression all over your face. It's obvious so stop being a stubborn dickhead and just say it." Rachel snapped, looking at Ryker as he did nothing more than fiddling with the pen on his desk, saying nothing. She waited for a few minutes with the clock ticking but still no answer. Silence filled the room unless for the constant of taps on the desk made by Ryker's pen that he kept fiddling and tapping since earlier. Feeling irritated enough, she gritted her teeth in annoyance and rolled her eyes. "Waiting." She said.
But still, no response she received from Ryker, making her short-tempered patience burned out. Ryker kept ignoring her, only sighing in response to her and kept tapping the pen he was holding on the table, eyes casted down. Groaning in irritation, Rachel took a step forward and stopped in front of Ryker's desk. She didn't bang the desk again this time, just standing there watching Ryker who was completely didn't acknowledge her existence in front of him. She waited for some more time, hearing Ryker sighing softly every once in a while but when she got no response in literally five minutes of silence, her last batch of patience ran out.
She grabbed the pen from Ryker hand and put it inside her skirt pocket. Ryker lifted his head to look at Rachel, dumbfounded as she just grabbed the pen out of his hand, more like snatching the pen harshly from him.
"Ryker, you need to stop." She said in between clenched teeth, trying to control her obvious annoyance when her cousin that she had known since they were little were acting like a five year- old who did something wrong and afraid to say it to his mom because he didn't want to get punished for it. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" She asked, one hand leaning against the desk with an eyebrow raised, looking at Ryker.
