Chapter 13: Maybe just a little hope*
It was a peaceful day in New York city, the refreshing spring's breeze blew through the opened windows and doors, bringing the sweet calming scent of flowers into the warm cosy mansion situated inside Pelliandric's property, decorated by a not so thick forests all around it with a large gardens coloring the morning view with the fresh green leaves decorated with a few drops of dew. The chilly morning wind was enough to make someone shivered to the bone, maybe some reptile-cold-blooded shifters but not for the originally warm blooded shifters like Ryker.
He opened his lazy eyes, staring at the dark sky, knowing that dawn had come and only by a few hours later to be followed by the rising sun warming the earth with it's light. He grabbed his phone by the bedside, checking the time, 6.30 a.m, before he threw it on the soft cold mattress beside him and tried to go to sleep again but as soon as he closed his eyes, he opened them again, sitting abruptly, looking at the empty bed beside him.
It had been 2 months since they had been back from the vacation and since then, Allison would sleep together with him in one bed. Seeing an empty space beside him early in the morning making him panicked even though he would never admit that out loud, seriously. He put his hand on the empty side of the bed, felt the cold bed cover meaning that Allison had already been up for quite a few hours.
He grabbed his shirt and slipped into them before making his ways downstairs. He had checked the bathroom first before he got out, just to be sure but no Allison in there so he just took his second guess into action: the kitchen. He walked through the hallway, cursing his house for being so big even though he was the one who chose it to be designed like that, and finally reached the kitchen.
Arriving there, his eyes went wide when he saw the mess in his kitchen. The flour was everywhere; the floor(a lot of them until he couldn’t see his shiny clean floor he used to adore anymore), the wall(he got no idea how the flour would be splayed on the wall like someone was using it to unsuccessfully using the flour to draw some ugly graffiti on it), the counter(that one was…nothing could be said about that anymore); the eggshells were lying on the floor too and the counter and beside the sink with some of them seemed to fell and broke, leaving a slimy egg yolk leaking everywhere all around the kitchen, more than that, he didn’t know what the other things splayed on the floor or the kitchen counter anymore. His kitchen looked like it was attacked by thieves and in the same time tornado hit it. A great unimaginable mess was what he could describe his kitchen’s condition.
In the middle of all the mess, Ryker could see the small frame in Ryker’s sweatshirt that was too big for the slender small body to wear making the sweatshirt fell right in the middle of the pale white thighs, was busy working with something inside the bowl and didn’t seem to realize Ryker was standing at the kitchen’s entrance, staring at the pale face that was now dirtied with flour and some food coloring; red, green, yellow, named it, even Ryker didn’t know if the boy was in the kitchen or in art class.
“What’re you doing?” Ryker asked and out of shock, Allison startled and accidently released the bowl.
‘Clang!’
The stainless steel bowl fell on the floor and making all of the contents poured out non-stop.
“Ah!” Allison gasped, moving quickly to pick up the fallen bowl as Ryker made his ways to him.
Ryker, seeing the bowl fell on the floor, noticed that he had startled Allison a bit too much, making the boy accidently released the bowl. Out of guilt, he walked to Allison to help him clean up the mess that was technically caused by him, but as soon as Allison saw him approaching, he backed away, startled, eyes big with a great fear flashed inside the beautiful blue orbs. Ryker frowned at that.
