CHAPTER 1: CALL

You held your hand in his. Your boyfriend, Lois Jean, grabbed out his camera and urged you to stand in front of a painting to pose. You tried to tell him no, since you believed that paintings are somewhat special, and should be taken seriously, not as a design. "Come on, it's just for memories," He winked at you and steadied his camera. You sighed and confidently struck a pose, mimicking the figure in the painting.

Not only were your boyfriend's eyes on you, but another pair of eyes lingered on your form too. After he took a shot, you immediately backed away and admired the painting once more. Here you are, at an art museum, viewing a giant painting that you recently posed in front of.

The painting is in a portrait orientation, filled with women wearing white silky robes that swayed along with the wind, the background colored a shade of blue, resembling something heaven-like. This is a recent painting of Calvin Doris, "Saturn." In this world, instead of having singers or bands loved across the globe, painters or artists are illustrious and respected by society. Calvin Doris, in particular, is probably the top artist around the world.

The art techniques, the message the painter conveys, and so much more, can bring such emotion to a person. You recalled seeing a person silently wiping their tears a while ago. The old man was crying over a painting that expresses betrayal and regret. Paintings really convey a story, too much that it could make someone look back on their own experiences and cry over them. Everyone admires art, and his paintings are what brought the world, even you, to cherish the beauty of art much more.

In your case, you're just a model. You were seen in a lot of commercial advertisements, and magazine covers, and you even walked more than once on a runway before. A fashion show for a popular brand, Khanel. Since experienced enough and your popularity rose in the modeling industry, you were able to become a brand ambassador for Khanel. You have even been involved in the top ten best runway walks from a video in Metube. Not only that, but you also modeled and served as a reference for popular painters, but not as popular as Calvin Doris. So, let's just say, you're not just an average model, you're a model that is respected by a lot of people too.

After gazing through different paintings of different painters, together with some really cool crafts, it's already 5 pm and you have to go home. You called out Lois, telling him that it was time to go. You do have a photo shoot tomorrow, and you're glad that your boyfriend of two years is there with you during every photo shoot. Lois is a photographer. He was the one who usually took your photos. You're going to take some shots wearing Khanel branded clothes.

You put on your shades once you walked out of the art museum. There was already a group of people with their cameras out. You're glad you put on your shades. White blinking lights flashed around you. You just smiled and gave a small wave as guards pushed the paparazzi back when they stepped a bit too close to you. You bowed down a bit, to apologize and bid goodbye to the group of people. You may be popular, but you still remain the same girl you were before your career: a slightly timid, humble person.

You were about to open the door to your car when you suddenly shuddered. You look around, trying to see if someone is intensely staring at you. You can still feel the burning gaze on your figure, earlier in the art museum. Finding none, climbed in your car, with your boyfriend doing the same.

"Woo~" Lois let out a sigh of relief. "It's time to go home. You need to sleep early for another tiring photoshoot tomorrow." He chuckled as he pets your head. You giggled, "Alright, alright, stop ruining my hair now-" You playfully whacked his hand away from your hair.

He laughed, "Fine," Lois brought his hand back and turned the key, starting the car.

The ride was quick. The sky gradually turned darker as time went by, but at last, you finally returned to your apartment. You flopped down unto your bed after ridding of your clothes. You and Lois live in the same apartment but sleep on different beds since you guys are too shy for that kind of thing. You think it's usually done for married couples only, but you and Lois are still dating, so it's a big no for you.

You grabbed your journal from your shelf. It became a routine for you to note whatever you did every day on your blue-colored journal. As you clicked your pen, a buzzing noise halted you from writing in your journal. You glanced at the clock, 6: 13 pm, it reads. You sighed and grabbed your phone. An unknown number flashed on your screen.

"Hello, this is (Y/N) speaking," You smiled, even though the person on the other line couldn't see it. Heavy breaths came out from the speaker of your phone. Your eyebrows furrowed, "Hello-"

"I've seen your business card from a friend of mine. I want to work with you. You're going to be in a painting." A masculine voice cut you off. He audibly inhaled, "Are you available tomorrow at 4 pm? Let's meet in Mellie Park. I recently moved to this area and that's the park closest to me."

"Sure! But before that, may I ask who this person is? So that I could know who I'm going to be working with, hehe." You questioned.

"This is Calvin Doris. I've seen some of your works and I really desire to collaborate with you. I would love to see you in a painting of mine." The man in the other line said. You hastily pushed the phone away from your mouth before you let out a large gasp. Hopefully, he didn't hear the sound of you almost falling over your chair from too much excitement.
