CHAPTER 5: CLOTHES

You wiped your lips with the napkin beside your plate. You're really full after eating some food on the table, however, there are still plenty more leftovers. You looked over at Calvin, who was still slowly chewing his food.

You didn't deserve this sort of luxury. Eating fine food, especially at the house of Calvin Doris himself, is what you never expected to happen. It's a shame he won't accept your money.

"(Y/N)." The painter stopped chewing. "Would you mind being in another painting of mine?" He asked.

Another? You blinked twice. You sighed in your head, well, since he did say that me being in a painting of his serves as a token of appreciation, then, this would be a replacement for my thanks to him for this dinner.

"I don't mind it at all." You answered. You could almost see sparkles in those empty eyes of his, "Thank you so much." He was gratified, his dimples were showing, and then it was gone once he continued eating.

You fiddled with the ends of your top. You don't know what would happen or when it would happen. Could it be worse than earlier? Would there be tigers instead of snakes? You're worried about the number of negative possibilities of this second collaboration with Calvin.

As you were about to question Calvin to confirm your speculations, he spoke first. "Let's do it tonight if possible. I promise it would take an hour. It's not that much of a big deal, you're just going to be wearing a certain attire."  He instructed. You were glad, but, tonight? Why not tomorrow? It's getting late right now.

After that, Calvin was done with his plate. He reached down underneath the table. You could see his finger moving, and suddenly, numerous maids comes out to grab your dishes and wrap up the leftover food.

"You." He locked eyes with mine. "Come with me." He stood up walking up the long staircase. You definitely feel like that princess walking up a huge flight of stairs to get to the balcony of her castle, cause damn, everything in this house screams wealth.

After walking a long hallway, he stopped in front of a large door. Twisting the doorknob, numerous candles are the only ones that lighten up the room. Calvin pulled out an ironed clothing. It looks small.

"Change into this." He demanded, pointing towards a shoji screen in the corner of the room. You gulped and walked behind it immediately. It was quite of a struggle to put on the clothing since it was still quite hard to see things.

Luckily, you were able to put it on. You squinted as you scanned your form through a small mirror hung on the wall beside you. It looks very revealing. It also seems to have this angelic essence. However, instead of it being pure white, it was navy blue. Your cleavage and thighs are visible to the eye.

You were honestly a bit disturbed with this attire. I mean, it's definitely not new for you to wear revealing outfits, but this makes you feel naked, and to make it worse was that you're in a dark room with a man you're a stranger to.

You walked out of the area and sat on the chair that Calvin patted on. Behind the chair were candles placed in different positions, making it look lined up in ascending order on both sides, in the perspective of the artist.

"Try to act as if you're hiding from something." Calvin readied his painting supplies. "As if you're cradling a baby that will soon be taken from you."

You placed your arms around yourself, looking down with a distressed face. "Perfect." The painter said and he began to paint.

The small sound of the paintbrush against the canvas, together with both of your and Calvin's breaths filled the room. It was silent and awkward. It's just the two of you, in a room that's dark, with candles being the only things that give you the ability to see in this room.

You could almost feel your jaw and back hurting. You should really get a break, especially from the events earlier. You just had a date with Lois, then you suddenly have to work on the painting with Calvin, and here you are, posing for another painting of Calvin. Does this man ever grow tired?

After around 30 minutes, Calvin stood up from his chair. Does this mean you're done now? "Take a break, I'm gonna drink some water." He said. He opened the door, finally letting more light into the room for a few seconds, and you swear, you could see a tint of redness on his face. Is this man sweating?

You stood up from your position. You stretched out your limbs, hearing the satisfying pop of your bones giving you a sigh of relief. In a minute, Calvin came back with a glass of water. "Drink up." He held out the water for you.

You grabbed it and gulped it all down. You realized how thirsty you were. "Let's continue." You covered your mouth, letting out a small burp, and nodded, sitting down and going back to the same position from earlier.
