"Dani, can you get the door?! I'm in the middle of a match right now!" My brother, Jonathan Toews yelled from downstairs as our doorbell rang.
"Yeah sure Jonny, because I'm soooo much closer!" I yelled back from my room. I turned off the music I was listening to and ran downstairs to get the door. As I opened the door, my eyes revealed another pair of bright blue eyes and a head of curls.
"Hey Dani, Jonathan here?" The boy asked, the boy being Patrick Kane, of course.
"Yeah, in here!" Jonny yelled before I could open my mouth. Patrick smiled at me before walking into the bonus room, where Jonathan was sitting on a bean-bag chair playing mario kart. I sware, if you didn't know his age, you'd think he was a 10 year old boy.
Jonathan and I lived in a house together in Chicago, because we both thought living alone would be boring. So we live in a medium sized house right outside of the city, and about 20 minutes from the United Center, so it was easy for him to get to and from practices and games.
"Dani, we're going to play video games, wanna play?" Pat asked. I turned away before he could see me blushing.
"Nooo she's so boringggg." Jon complained back, and then yelled at the tv because he wasn't in first place anymore. "COME ON!"
"Well thanks bro, appreciating your kindness here." I replied back with sass in my tone.
"Oh come on Jonny." Pat said, sitting on another bean-bag chair. I sware, their literally two 10 year olds at heart.
"Fine whatever."
With that, I went and sat on the couch behind where the guys were sitting after grabbing a controller. During the next game, I joined in, coming in second place behind Tazer, and Patrick following.
"Pat your not very good at this game." Jon said, me laughing.
"Well whatever." He replied back, sticking out his tongue.
Soon, Jonathan's phone started ringing and it was his girlfriend, Lindsey. I secretly really didn't like her, but faked that I did because I knew Jonny did. No one else did though, and I doubt she even likes my brother. She's probably just into him for the money, but he doesn't realize that.
"Be right back, gotta take this." He said, getting up and walking out of the room.
"So Dani," Pat said, breaking the silence "Are you coming to our game tomorrow against the Wings?" He asked.
"I don't know yet. Should I?"
"Yes definitely, you need to go! Pleaseeee, for meeee?" He asked with a puppy dog face. I could sware he was flirting with me. I blushed a little, but covered it up with a laugh.
"Sure, for you."
To be completely honest, I'd had a small crush on Patrick for years, practically since him and Tazer started being friends. I couldn't help it, his deep blue eyes and those curls. THE CURLS.
"Great! Well I should get going. Walk me out?" He asked, getting up.
"Sure."
We both walked out towards the door and he put on his coat.
"Tell Jonny I had to go, and see ya around, Dani." He said, smiling.
"No problem." I replied back with a smile, and then he left. As the door closed, I smiled to myself like an idiot. What if he liked me back?
No. That would never work out, I mean he's my brother's best friend. That wouldn't work out... would it?
A/N: My first story yayyyy. Sorry this is kinda short and super boring, it's a filler, and soon the story will pick up! I hope this story goes well.
