When I woke uo from my nap, I noticed there was no Patrick next to me. I was a bit disappointed. But there was a ticket on the pillow beside me. A Blackhawks ticket. I had forgotten they had a game today. And Patrick wanted me to go.
I got up and showered, trying to make myself look desent. I tried to wipe the past day from my mind and focus on something else. Anything but my parents and Jonathan.
Once I was done with my hot, calming shower, I put on dark jeans, my Patrick Kane hoodie that I had never worn to a game before, and I straightened my dirty blonde hair. I put on light, natural makeup, and put on my sperrys, and left Pat's apartment, and headed to the UC.
I figured I'd be early, but I didn't mind. Maybe I could talk to Pat, or even Jon and figure things out.
I hated to fight with him, since he was all I had left. But sometimes things go wrong.
As I passed through the double doors of the United Center, a rush of cold air blew in my face.
The feel of a hockey arena.
I walked quietly down the empty corridor, heading too the locker room. It was eerily quiet behind the doors that led to the room, so I didn't think anyone was in there. As I opened the large doors, it revealed too me that there were in fact people in the room. Two specific people to be exact.
Who exactly?
Patrick Timothy Kane and Jonathan Bryan Toews of course.
Although the peculiar silence didn't change, the facial expressions of both men did however.
Staring at me was a guilty Jonathan, and a sorrowful Patrick. Who, I might add, had a bruise right above his eye.
"What the hell?" I asked, walking over to Patrick and touching his eye. He winced, and turned his head away. "Pat, what'd you do?"
He glanced at Jonathan quickly, and looked away.
"I ran into a door."
I rolled my eyes at the obvious lie. "Seriously."
Looking over at Jonathan, I saw him rushing to put his skates on. Putting two and two together, I said, "Jon what the fuck."
"What?"
"You obviously had something to do with this." I said, gesturing to Pat's still bruising eye.
"Well sorry if I don't want you getting hurt." He mumbled.
"Getting hurt? Please. I would never hurt her." Pat joined.
"Pat shut up! Everyone knows how you are. Fucking a girl and getting her pregnant and then leaving her. It's not a new trend!" Jonathan yelled, totally not interested in his skates anymore.
"Jon I'm not fucking like that anymore damn!"
"How does one change to a new person in such little time?" Jon yelled.
"Because I actually care this time! I care about Dani so fucking much you wouldn't understand. More than I've ever cared about anyone. Ever." Pat said, avoiding my eyes.
"Well you know what? Have your fucking relationship. Do whatever the hell you want because I'm done trying." Jon spat, before leaving the room.
All I wanted to do was cry. I finally got the guy of my dreams, and everything was falling apart. One thing after another was going wrong. It was a snowball effect.
Tears streaming down my face, Pat came and sat next to me.
"Dani, it'll be okay." He said, wiping my face with his thumb.
"Just, I need to think." I replied, getting up and walking out.
I was torn. Torn in many ways. And it was ruining my life.
