Reno x Reader

There are a few spoilers for the Midgar portion of the game.

"Will you please join us?" Reno asked once again. "Before I have to do this?"

"I don't want to join your organization. There are innocent lives that are going to die if you 'do your job'," you said, mimicking your boyfriend.

"(Y/N), I have no choice. The only reason they assigned this to me is because they know I'll get the job done. Anyone else would back out, knowing that this was on them," Reno said.

"Then, issue a warning or something. That way, more people-"

"We can't. I could lose everything if the President knew that I told you. He hates AVALANCHE, and he knows who all works with them. If he found out that I was dating you, I don't know what would happen," Reno said. "Rude and I are being sent out tomorrow night. Promise me that you'll get out of there before we arrive."

"You know I won't get out of there until I know everyone else has evacuated," you said.

You had just learned that the Sector Seven pillar was going to be bombed, leaving no support for the Plate above. Ever since AVALANCHE started, you had been working with them. Their goal was to help keep the Planet going for as long as possible. The Mako Reactors were using up the Lifestream and killing the Planet. You wanted to help them, but it had been a constant struggle for your boyfriend. You and Reno had been dating for a few months before you joined AVALANCHE. He never knew about it until you told him about the program to help the Planet a year ago. He was shocked that you had been working with them.

You turned and ran down the alley towards Sector Seven, turning back once to see Reno running after you. You stopped and turned around. When Reno caught up, he engulfed you in a hug.

"Just... No, please stay safe," he said seriously.

"Don't be getting yourself hurt either," you said.

You let go of each other and continued down your path. Once you stepped foot in the slums, you started warning people.

"We need to evacuate!" you shouted.

A family of four were walking up the stairs of their house.

"Excuse me, sir," you grabbed the man's shoulder. "Shinra is going to drop the Plate tomorrow. Please spread the word, we need to get everyone to safety."

"What?" he replied.

"I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. I've heard rumors of it, and we have to take them seriously. We could all die if we stay," you explained.

He nodded his head and turned to his family. You heard him tell them to pack up their stuff.

You ran to Seventh Heaven. Barret was having a drink with Biggs, Wedge and Jessie. They were laughing and talking about good times.

"Guys, Shinra's going to drop the Plate tomorrow," you interrupted the conversation.

"They're gonna what?" Wedge asked.

"Drop the Plate on Sector Seven," you said.

"We'll go check it out," Barret said. "(Y/N), you stay back here and keep Marlene safe. Don't tell her that we're in danger."

"Barret, we need to evacuate everyone first," you said.

"You three, go alert the slums," Barret told Biggs, Wedge and Jessie.
