Eventually, they had gotten together outside the catacombs.
"Well, we lost him." Fred says, catching his breath
"Groovy." Shaggy comments in response
"Now we gotta catch him." Fred adds
"N-N-Not groovy." Shaggy stuttered
Daphne shook her head and says, "Well, we will if we're ever gonna solve this mystery. But how?"
"Simple. And with just a few things." Fred says, looking around the room and pointing to the items he would need for his trap. "That suit of armor and crossbow...that canon ball and old spring......"
Later, after getting everything they needed into the right position, Fred eventually finished the trap. And it looked like it wouldn't work if there was even the slightest mess-up.
"I gotta hand it to you, Fred." Shaggy says. "You really know how to build a better mouse trap."
"Or in this case, a better PHANTOM trap." Fred states
"But what good is it? We can't catch a phantom!" Shaggy protests
"I have a hunch that we can catch this one." Fred replied, looking over to Velma. "Right, Velma?"
Velma nods and says, "Check. But first, we have to find him and lure him here."
"But how do we find the Phantom?" Daphne asks
"We don't." Fred answered. "Scooby does."
Scooby went wide eyed and an eyebrow raised and questions, "RMe???"
"Right." Fred replies. "With your supersleuth nose, you'll be able to sniff him out."
Scooby then ran over and began acting like he was sick, sneezing, feet in some water, and a blanket wrapped around him and everything.
"Well, look at him." Daphne comments
Scooby sneezes a few more times and says, "RA cold. RI have a cold in my nose."
"Now cut it out." Fred says. "You don't have a cold in your nose."
"But, how do we know the Phantom will chase Scooby-Doo?" Shaggy asks. "He's a Pokemon."
Fred looks at Shaggy and says, "Don't worry. We'll soon fix that."
Later, Fred had gotten Scooby into a disguise and shoved him out and begins trying to have to convince Scooby to go out and look for the Phantom to bait him into the trap. Scooby's disguise consisted of a trench coat, a small bowler hat, and a fake mustache.
Scooby whimpers a little
"Come on, Scooby, be brave." Fred says
Scooby just whimpered some more.
