The Final Battle

~Kid's POV~

"Stop!"

I saw her standing over Tiz. My eyes narrowed.

"Don't touch her."

The witch laughed. I didn't understand how they were related. The witch had sky blue hair and crimson eyes. Even her laugh was different. Mae walked past me, stopping halfway.

"How dare you hurt her."

The witch chuckled.

"Poor foolish child. I'm not the one hurting her. You are."

My breath caught. I ran and slid next to Tiz. I held her head to my chest.

"Wake up, Tiz. Please."

Nothing happened. The witch shot me in the back. I fell, my head next to Tiz's. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it.

"Help us."

I blacked out.

~3rd POV~

"Kid!"

Liz and Patty stared at their downed meister. Patty transformed and Liz caught her.

"You're going down."

The witch rolled her eyes.

"Yeah? And who's gonna stop me?"

Mae stood next to Liz.

"We are."

Behind them were Black Star and Maka,weapons in hand. Mae pulled out her katana.

"Prepare to die."

They attacked. While they were fighting, Stein and Spirit moved Kid and Tiz out of the way. Stein checked Tiz.

"She has a faint pulse. She won't die though."

Spirit, who'd been watching the fight, stared at the man.

"Why not?"

"Because she won't do that to Mae."

They watched the battle. Maka and Soul were done first. Maka had been thrown backward, so Soul had transformed. He took the majority of the impact, which knocked him out. Spirit carried him over, laying the scythe next to Kid. Next were Liz and Patty, who'd been switching the entire time. Patty was hit in the head. Liz carried her unconcious sister and placed her beside Tiz. Black Star and Mae kept attacking without stopping. Stein, however, noticed Black Star was slowing down. He tensed.

"Something's wrong."

Black Star stopped and fell to his knees. Mae moved toward him as Tsubaki transformed.

"Are you— ohmygodyourebleeding!"

Mae and Tsubaki helped Black Star get over to the others. They were beginning to wake up. However, Stein wouldn't let them fight.

"It's all up to you Mae."

Mae nodded once, glancing at her meister. She faced the witch.

"I'm gonna need some help Tiz."

She ran toward the witch. Kid, who'd grabbed Tiz's hand once he regained conciousness, felt her tense up slightly. He watched Mae, realising that she wasn't doing all the work.

"You suck at this!"

Kid looked at Tiz. She was smiling a bit. No, she was smirking. He turned his attention back to Mae. She had finally managed to knock the witch to the ground. She stood for a moment, breathing heavily.

"Ready?"

Tiz stood up, her head down, hair in her face.

"Ready."

Everyone looked at the still purple-haired girl for a split second. Tiz began walking forward, but stopped, dropping to her knees. Both girls spoke in unison.

"Let's go, soul resonance!"

Maka leaned forward. Her mouth hung open.

"What? But how are they- Tiz isn't even wielding Mae. How can they—"

She broke off when Mae's katana began to glow. Suddenly the blade was twice it's original size. Mae growled.

"Violet the witch, you have committed crimes worthy of severe punishment."

The witch, Violet, laughed.

"Tell me child. What are those crimes?"

Mae grinned evilly.

"Breaking and entering, assault on an innocent DWMA student, and attempting to murder my best friend."

Violet grinned as evilly as Mae.

"Violet, your punishment is DEATH!"

Mae swung the katana, causing blades of air to slice through Violet. Mae and Tiz went to the soul that was left. Mae grabbed it and ate it. Tiz laughed.

"How's it taste?"

"Dunno. Can't taste it."

Tiz smiled as the others walked over.

"You were great MAe. Except a little too dramatic at the end."

Mae playfully punched Tiz.

"Shut up. You loved it."

"Yes I did."

Mae noticed Black Star holding his side. She looked at him.

"Are you okay?"

"It's nothing a star like me can't handle."

Tiz rolled her eyes and forced his hand out of the way. She lifted his shirt showing a gash going from the base of his rib cage to the beginning of his hip.

"On a scale of 1-10 how badly does it hurt?"

"Two."

Tiz glanced at him then poked near the wound. Black Star flinched.

"Okay, okay. Seven."

"Wow. Now, don't move."

Tiz put her hands on the wound. Black Star winced. He watched as Tiz healed it.

"You know, you could've left it. I can handle anything."

Tiz snapped her fingers and the gash came back. Black Star yelped as Tiz snapped again, making it disappear.

"Thought so. Where's Kid?"

She saw the young shinigami walking away. Tiz ran to him and matched his pace."

"What's wrong?"

"I couldn't save you. I couldn't even fight."

"It's fine."

"No! It's not fine, because you could've been killed! You were right. I'm not fit to be a grim reaper. I'm not even fit to be your boyfriend."

Tiz stopped and Kid looked at her. She was shaking her head.

"God, you're dumb."

She smiled.

"Kid, you're the greatest grim reaper ever. Well, after your father. You're also the greatest boyfriend a girl could ask for."

He grinned and pulled her in for a hug.

"Maybe I could be more than a boyfriend."

Tiz looked up at the boy.

"Let's wait until we graduate, okay?"

"You got it, my symmetrical love."

Tiz grinned and kissed Kid on the lips.

~Epilogue~

The years that followed were happy times for all. Kid and Tiz had twins when they were 25. Black Star and Mae got married after they graduated and were expecting, at the ages of 23 (Mae) and 24 (Black Star), a boy. Two years later they had another boy. Soul and Maka got married but didn't get pregnant right away. Liz and Patty got their own boyfriends, and Tsubaki got married to Cameron.
