☆RAINY DAYS☆
In which Gou just wants to enjoy the rain but Ash is as annoying as ever.~☆~
I always loved rainy days. It always calmed me no matter how or what I was feeling. Just its indescribable scent of freshness, its cold embrace and its parade of tapping droplets whether it be on an echoing iron rooftop, the hardened concrete or on the silencing grounds.
Rainy days are my euphoria.
"Dammit! I didn't bring my umbrella!" A familiar voice complained, clearly agitated by the situation.
I couldn't bother with them but I heard them muttering that they'll call their mom. I was making the most of the weather. The rain was at its peak, pouring down like a waterfall. It was aggressive. A strong wind blew, pushing the rain towards the sheltered buildings.
I smiled in content, feeling the cold stings of the droplets. If I could step into the rain and let myself be graced with its touch I would gladly do so. But mom would kill me. She is supposed to pick me up but there is a huge traffic jam due to some flooding. It had been pouring since two in the afternoon and now it was almost five.
I sighed. Whatever, I was very content.
"Eh, you seem to like the rain so much?" The same voice spoke after minutes of silence. It was clearly directed at me since the school was almost completely empty and it seems I'm the only one enjoying the downpour.
I opened my eyes slightly and glanced to the direction of the voice. I closed my eyes again and continued to marvel in the wonderful weather.
"Gou!" The person whined. The person was Ash Ketchum.
"Go away Ketchum, I'm trying to enjoy the weather." I grumbled trying to block out his obnoxious cries for attention.
"But you have me here."
"Is that supposed to make me happy or something?" I huffed still trying my best to ignore him.
"Why of course," I heard footsteps approached me. Then I felt a presence behind me, confirmed by the soft, warm breath on my ear which stiffened me in place like a statue. "Since you like me so much." He whispered.
I turned around and shot him a glare. Ignoring the close proximity of our faces I shot back, "Don't get too full of yourself. Your heads already bigger than it should." I placed my hand of him chest and shoved him back, keeping my footing; showing him I am not easily wavered.
Ash stumbled back but quickly got his footing. He looked at me with a shock expression but then it quickly turned into an amused smile. It pissed me off.
I crossed my arms and raised a brow. "What's funny?"
He let out a deep chuckle, "You've gotten a lot more confident, Gou. By the way, you didn't deny the crush?"
"What crush?"
"On me."
"Me crush on you?"
"Yeah."
"I deny." I scoffed. It was easy to put in words but I hoped to the gods that my expression matched them. The atmosphere around seemed to get hotter and tenser as the silence elongated.
Ash finally broke the silence with his signature Ash Ketchum chuckle. "Nice try Gou. I'm not that easily fooled."
"Who said I was trying to fool you?" I asked. I wanted to face palm. He was denser than a brick.
"I said so. And I say you have a crush on me, you know why?" He asked.
"Why?"
"Because your face is red." He smirked smugly and winked at me.
"... Nice try."
"Ah, damn. I thought you'd budge for sure!"
I scoffed, rolling my eyes and turning away. Internally I was thanking the gods for answering my prayers to keep my composure.
"I was just kidding. You're redder than a tomato." Ash whispered into my ears, taking me off guard and causing me to jump forward into the rain from instinct.
The cold droplets peirced my exposed skin and I felt the soak through my clothes. I quickly jumped back under shelter where Ash was laughing his ass off on the floor. I glared and kicked him.
"A-aye! No violence! Haha!"
"Shut up, you idiot." I glowered. Ash got up, still letting out breathy laughs as he did.
"You needed the cool off. I was afraid you'd pop or something." He placed both his hands on my shoulders and smiled at me. I raised a brow and watched him, still annoyed.
"Aw, don't look at me like that!" He pouted. "I just wanted to ask you if we can move our date to this Saturday."
"Why? You busy on the next or something?" I tilted my head in confusion.
"No...well I have a game but I just wanted to hang out with you sooner." Ash smiled softly. I could feel my face heating up.
"You're turning red again."
"Shut up."
Ash grinned, "It's always a pleasure teasing you." He hugged me closer and poked my puffed cheeks. "But when you play along I sometimes feel like you really mean it." He frowned, nuzzling his head in my neck.
I sighed and pat his head. I do tend to come off harsh when he teases me but it's because I'm not too fond of expressing my feelings. Especially romantic feelings so I just put up a mean front as a means of countering his teasing.
But I'm not going to tell him that.
Messing with him is fun!
"That's cause you're a blockhead." I whispered reassuringly. Ash pulled away with a offended look and it was finally my turn to laugh at him.
He huffed and pouted. "So are you free this week or no?" He asked.
"Sure." I smiled and pecked his cheek. Sure Ash was good at flirting and teasing but when it came to physical contact, especially if it's initiated by me, he melts.
I heard my Mom's car honking from a distance and saw her pulling up to the side, where Ash and I were standing.
I turned back to Ash who was blushing but smiling at me. "I'll see you tomorrow." He said.
I nodded, "That is if I don't get sick because of you scaring me into the rain." I laughed and got into the car, leaving Ash with a dumbfounded expression.
My home pinged when we pulled out of the school parking lot.
Ash💙: I'll still be seeing u cuz i'll be the one taking care of u😗
